this is my first post so be gentle. I know this is expensive but its a really really good machine and dead simple to use. Good price as not found any deal close to this for this machine. Was £699 now £399

ESAM4500

The Magnifica with patented Autocappucino system is simply the best value domestic one touch bean-to-cup espresso, lungo, latte and cappuccino machine on the market, with ingenious design and patented innovation. It enables consumers to make 15 bar restaurant and coffee bar standard coffee in the comfort of their own homes, simply and easily.

All aspects of a typical professional pump espresso machine (like the ones you see in your highstreet coffee bar), such as grinders, filter holders and steam pipes, are found working inside the machine, De’Longhi has simply redesigned, compacted and hidden them inside the machine. Instead of grappling with filter holders and fiddly cappuccino steam pipes, Magnifica with Autocappucino system expertly performs all of these functions at the touch of one button.

4200 is good value but the 5400 has a jug you can put straight into the fridge and as it has a jug the 5400 is easier to clean - trust me this a big advantage....id go for the 5500 at costco if you have one near you £430@ csoct (570 @ amazon)

im sure the 4200 was on sale at makro at 200+vat recently

The 5400 looks pretty similar to the 4500, not sure what the major difference is. That 5400 deal seems good though.

The 5### series machines are far better than the 4### series.

I have owned both and currently have a 5400.
