Acolyte is the debut album by Manchester's Delphic, a band shortlisted for the BBC Sound of 2010. Delphic's motto is "The guitar is dead, long live the guitar!", and it's easy to see what they mean as they mix indie rock and euphoric electronics with great success.

From the synth-led 'Doubt' to the punky guitars on 'Counterpoint', there's plenty to enjoy throughout, whilst fans of more complex musical structures will listen in awe at the manic percussion break on the exuberant 'This Momentary'. The epic 'Remain' is a fitting finale, with a faithful nod back to fello Manc electronic heroes New Order.

Having supported a broad range of bands on tour such as Bloc Party, The Streets, Orbital and Kasabian, Delphic have proved themselves to have mass appeal across different genres.

Brilliant album one of the best of the last year.

I have to say it is one of my favourites so far this year, Counterpoint is just sheer awesome.
Fantastic album and superb live, deserve to be massive this band.
Had never heard of them until I saw them on Reading highlights from last night and loved their song "Doubt" - might well treat myself to this now!
Saw them live in Manchester last year - excellent stuff.
