True that!

It's called the Black Phantom Edition and prices range from £30-£70.

Hardly ever falls beneath £30 for the sake of a red box and a guide.

Thanks for the post OP!

its fallen to this price in the last 3hrs i checked it earlier today, real tempted but i dunno if i have the time, i wanna trade sum of my games for this

Hoooot. Nice 1 OP.
I wanted the black phantom edition but I heard it's not that good (I certainly don't think it's worth the mad prices it's up for, for the last few copies out there) . The game is solid regardless - You just need to persist and there are plenty of decent FAQ's online if you get completely headless chicken stuck.
Amazing price for what I hear/read is a brilliant game if you stick with it.
#8
The black phantom edition has a guide,a sound track and an art book and is really good and worth more than the standard edition (unlike other special editions of games). However this is a great price for the normal edition.
#9
code doesnt seem to work....still, cant complain for £15 :)

Awesome game.

Contrary to reviews etc, this is NOT a JRPG, nor is it an RPG. Its like Mass Effect 2, a 3rd person action game with RPG 'elements'.

finally someone that knows what an RPG is.

people that say mass effect is an RPG know nothing.
#12
Remember this, you're playing a role of a commander and you get to choose what he say and do so yeah technically you could call mass effect an RPG. Same thing could be said for fallout 3 and new vegas lol.
#13
Fantastic game at a fantastic price
#14
Ordered. Thanks.
#15
Great game at a great price.

Be warned, it's difficult and will punish you, though!
#16
Hot with the 15%......just ordered ....many thanks for posting..........;)

Except Fallout 3 and NV actually are western RPGs. For starters they both have vast non linear environments full of quest giving NPCs, not to mention the crazy amounts of weapons and other drops. Mass Effect has neither, and Demons Souls has very little in the way of customisation with loot as well as a semi-linear storyline/environment.

Mass Effect 1 could be considered an RPG, but ME2 definitely not.
#18
Demon's Souls has won enough rpg awards and has more rpg elements than action/adventure elements. It is an rpg.
#19
Couldn't be bothered with the 15% but ordered anyway thanks. Have some heat!

Superb game - one of the best on the PS3 IMO and the online element is brilliant and innovative.

Tough - but not sadistically so (even if the reviews would have you believe otherwise) but fair. As a result of the strict nature of the game you get a much greater sense of accomplishment when you progress and you genuinely have to learn to play it better rather than button mash.
#21
Why are so many people hung up on what type of game this is? It is possible to have a game crossing more than one genre. Many games now cross genres, and trying to define them as one or the other is just stupid.
#22
What's the co-op like on this? Setting it up seems more complicated than you'd expect from any other game nowadays. How easy is it to get friends in your game and get them back in if they die? Any complications from completing a level and moving on to the next one? Does everyone get XP etc?
#23
Awesome game, and at this price, an absolute bargain.
Scorching.

What's the co-op like on this?

To be honest, I personally treat this game as a single player. To play on the same level in co-op, I'm sure one of you has to already be dead and you have to ask to be summoned into the other players game. I've used it but I just enjoyed playing in single player mode more. My opinions though, I'm sure someone else will post soon saying that it's awesome :)

By the time I get round to buying a PS3 the servers for this will be shut down.
At least they've been extended past March though.
#25
It's an action RPG. You level up, there's a story that you need to complete (the high scores keep you coming back) and you need to upgrade attributes based on what style of character you want.

It's not an RPG in the traditional sense, but it still has RPG elements.

Fallout 3/New Vegas is similar, although it has sandbox elements because you don't have to follow a certain path (i.e. non-linear), and there are side quests and easter eggs to find.

On this deal, you'd be mad not to take it up. The fact that messages are there to guide you, and you can Co-op if you find someone to do it with make it very tough, but beatable. I guess the thrill is in beating the difficulty.

I have the Black Phantom edition of this, which is a really nice set, but this is just an amazing price for an amazing game.
#27
Damn you OP, another game added to the unopened collection! Thanks though!

Heard so much good things about this game, for £15 its a steal! But will I give it the time it deserves?! AGGGHHHHH!

For those wondering - the US servers that operate for imports of this game are running until at least October this year - This will be extended further depending on the popularity I guess.

The European servers are operated by Namco-Bandai (not Atlus that run the US ones) thus this version of the game. I can't find a definitive date until when they are operating by, but again likely to depend on popularity. Should be at least October again but hopefully longer.

So hop to it peeps! Get playin'

Ahhhh i love and hate this site at the same time. I wouldnt have thought about buying this until i saw this post, now after reading the reviews and the blurb on the game im gonna have to buy it at this price :) . Heat Added.

excellent price. Heat Added.

Brilliant game at a fantastic price!

NOT a great game - I have been playing games for years and this has got a) an unwieldy control method and b) doesn't show you how the game mechanics work. A good game to me constitutes of a user being empowered to act and react to his environment in a fluid and consistent manner. This game fails miserably at it and I can see why it's dropped in price so much. AWFUL and proof that EDGE can get it all wrong!

@maverikk

No, it IS a great game, but it most certainly will not appeal to everyone, most players even. It's a game that doesn't even remotely hold your hand and will punish you unless you take the time to learn it. Unwieldy control system? I'm struggling to think of a game, other than a Nintendo one, that gives you a greater freedom of control. It works so well that when you're hit or die it is one of the few games out there where you know it wasn't down to a crappy control method, but your own ineptitude.

In fact Edge underrated it. It should have been a 10, esp if Bayonetta can get one.

cheers for the update! (and watch out for my fake messages newcomers...........!)

Phenomenal game, genuinely rewarding if you've got the time and effort to invest in it. A nice return to the old-school "if you're not good enough don't play it" ethos.

The code does not work

Great price at 12 quid. I owned the Black Phantom edition but sold it on for a nice profit before I finished it. Tempted to pick it up again at this price.
