Do you think 2 sets for a house with 2 people living in? I always struggle with this sort of thing. I've got a dishwasher so handy to have spares! Not like my old man who has 1 plate, 1 cup, and a knife and fork. Bless his smelly old socks.

Great deal don't get me wrong, but please remember this is not 'real' Denby quality here. These cheap sets were made by denby especially for Argos to sell...they are cheaply made and not finished off with the usual Denby quality , hence why they are at least a quarter of the price of normal denby.

Worth a punt if you need a set, but don't expect usual denby quality that's all

We bought this two weeks ago at the full price, but we got the £5 gift card offer. So we bought it yesterday again for the half price offer, then took the same box to another Argos with the old reciept and got a full refund and still got to keep the gift card. So it ended up costing £19.99 for the set :)

True, but still, not being up to the quality standards of Denby's full price lines is still better quality than most.

These are lower cost units aimed at a different market, that's all.

That's VERY true....these are not BAD sets by any means. Just understand that when you buy them you aren't really buying 'real' Denby.

Compared to any other set at this price, these are fantastic value.

As im sat next to a Denby Employee i thought id mention this deal....

I wasnt aware that

1) This isnt made at Denby Pottery
2) This isnt finished at Denby Pottery
3) This isnt checked at Denby pottery
4) This isnt Denby Pottery

These are made by another company then stamped with Denby on the underside and packed in Denby boxes for sale in Argos!!!

Its shocking really because 'some' people will buy it just because of the name and assume it is Denby made Pottery and are getting Denby quality - but instead you are getting someone elses pottery with a Denby stamp on!!

That's interesting but if they are £24.99 per set - how did you get them at that price

Anybody want to get some photographs of their set please? Are the black circles raised at all? Argos pictures never really do anything justice

1) This isnt made at Denby Pottery

China afaik, as are a few other unbranded lines they do for other people. But does that really matter for a budget line? After all a Toyota is still a Toyota despite being made in Derby, not Japan.

2) This isnt finished at Denby Pottery

As above

3) This isnt checked at Denby pottery

It is checked to Denby standards though, and as you'll know if you've been sat next to an employee they are very exacting.

4) This isnt Denby Pottery

It's designed by Denby, commissioned by Denby, made to Denby's specifications. It's just not physically made in Denby

Well yes, a lot of employees, one assumes the chap you spoke too is among them, are very concerned about this "watering down the brand". Can't say I disagree, they need to keep a clear distinction between this and their premium stuff. However, Denby are in the business of selling pottery and premium pottery doesn't sell in a recession, so what else could they do but bring out budget lines if they want to survive?
