Translates as bullsh*t then!

They've made redundancies, sure, but there is a recession on you know.

I'm well aware of the current economic state thanks!
All I am saying is if you buy direct from Denby please think about using your credit card, I wouldn't want any of my fellow HUKDers losing out because they have gone bust.

I am not in the habit of spouting ******** either as I can't see what could possibly be gained by saying such??

That is all.

The kind that talks ********

They have announced a few redundancies, hardly big news in the current climate. I'd be urging people to buy British and support Denby not avoid them, that is highly irresponsible speculation. Besides they've lasted over 200 years, and survived a few more recessions than any of us ever could - we just don't live long enough. :whistling:

The company's UK and US businesses have been sold to a management buyout team led by managing director Garry Biggs.

Where did I say avoid them?

I know someone who works for an Insolvency solicitors who mentioned Denby last week! I hope they have been saved as I would be a damn shame to see another British manufacturer go t!ts up and more job losses.

I simply stated that when making a purchase use a credit card so your money is protected. I think in the current climate we should be buying most things using credit cards as so many people aren't getting the goods or their money back

Sound advice.

Afaik Denbys' only real problem was that HBOS (their main creditor) wanted to call in some debts (seeing as they've gotten themselves into something of a pickle with this whole "banking crisis" thing) at a time when sales are down. Obviously it's difficult selling what many would consider a "luxury" product in a recession, to lots of folks cheap plates from Wilko "do the same job". To those who know better though Denby is worth every penny, it's virtually indestructible stuff even my clumsy hands struggle to break it - well unless it's a Denby on Denby accident then I'm in trouble. It's a bit like diamonds, only seems to be damaged by itself, lol. Some lines are selling well enough though. They've been talking it over for a while now, looks like it's finally sorted today according to steve_woodward's link. I don't think insolvency was ever an option, at least not that I'd heard, but I do believe such things have to be looked at when dealing with buyouts etc.

Anyway enough of that doom and gloom, HOT deal, buy Denby and lots of it
