Denon AH-C751 Black Headphones £49.97 @ Currys

Currys have reduced the Denon AH-C751 headphones (in black) to £49.97 (clearance price). I picked up a box which was actually marked lower at £39.99. There were several boxes in stock at Currys Brent Cross. Original RRP was £140 at launch - current lowest price seems to be around £70 on-line.

The AH-C751 reference series headphones are sound isolating canal-type inner ear headphones which will reduce ambient noise allowing you to enjoy more of the music than ever before. For strength and stability, an aluminum housing has been used to achieve high rigidity so that dynamic sound is clear and on target.

The newly developed Acoustic Optimizer provides optimum acoustic characteristics by adjusting the sound pressure balance in front of and behind the diaphragm. Sound is more dynamic yielding clear bass with proper balance at the low to mid frequency range.

For improved performance, high purity OFC cables of equal length for both channels are used to maintain optimum sound quality. Additionally an aluminum connector cover is used for strength and durability. For connectivity a gold-plated stereo mini jack is employed. The tangle-resistant elastomer cable provides less hassle and makes for easy storage.

For comfort and convenience, the AH-C751 comes with 3 sizes of earpieces to be sure you have the size that fits your ears.

I guess that is the problem with most audio reviews - it depends on the listener and the type of music. I'm just having a quick listen to mine now - compared with my (cheaper) Shure SE-210's they sound "cleaner" but the bass lacks a little of the "oomph" you get with the Shure's. I also prefer the squidgy tips you get with the Shure's as they are a bit better at blocking out noise. I'm very happy with the Denon's at this price though (which is much less than I paid for the Shure's).

I bought a pair of these for £75 from advancedmp3players,co.uk. Sound was great although I sent them back as found them too heavy in my ears. Most definitely a bargain if you can get on with them.

Just picked up a set from PC World Bath. They had about 4 sets on clearance table when you go into store. Some of them are still marked up at £99.97 but scan through at £49.97.
Much more comfortable than my Shure e2c's.
Thanks OP.
