Dolby Atmos is the latest sound format 7.4.2 I think.

Great price and heat added - one thing to be aware of is that it does not support HDCP 2.2.
#9
That's a deal :)

Huh? You know the 5.1 refers to the number/type of speakers right?

2.0 = Stereo (front L/R)
2.1 = 2.0 + Sub.
5.1 = 2.1 + Center + Surround L/R
7.1 = 5.1 + Rear L/R
7.2 = 7.1 + extra sub (Sub L/R)

Strange that it doesn't have a separate Zone 2 output though, so I guess if you want Z2 you're limited to 5.2.

I went with the Pioneer VSX-529, my old VSX is going well still but need HDMI connections now and for £159 your can't loose really if you just have a 5.1 setup.

says compatible with 3d in the blurb ?

Nowhere near enough power to run a decent home theatre system, probably better with a good soundbar instead.

True if you believe all the wattage stuff. This is more than enough.

It depends. This having Audyssey MultEQ XT sells it for me.

Oo don't get me wrong I’m sure it’s a tad better kit than the 529. But this is £80 more so would expect that !.

But in this case it's worth the extra.

No SD to HD/4K upscaling?
#25
This or the YAMAHA RXV477 @ £229 (I'll only be using 5:1)

Will I lose anything with either? like the auto setup on the Yamaha?

Also Richersounds have the DENON AVRX2100 for £279 is there mich difference?

Thx

Any decent TV will do a far better job of upscaling than most AV receivers.

Does it at least have passthrough though? The one thing that annoys me about my old Onkyo amp is that I can't plug my retro consoles into it!

The Denon. I'm not sure if the 2100 has HDMI 2.0, if it does, get that.

Only two HDMI's are 2.0 on the 1100. On the 2100, all of the HDMI's are 2.0

Well in that case you're unlikely to sell it on eBay so why would you care how much they go for?

I could if I was on my desktop. Isn't worth the effort on my Y300.
