I'm hoping this goes cold with examples of cheaper options but if not, I'll have to bite the bullet.

Very good price but isnt Atmos normally 7.1.4 the 4 being overhead? This states Atmos as 5.1.2.

Atmos can be 5.1.2 as well
I have a 5.1.2 Atmos setup with upward firing Onkyo speakers as the .2

Dolby Atmos spec officially supports upto 24.1.10 configuration. However, they recommend 5.1.2, 5.1.4 or 7.1.2, 7.1.4 or 9.1.2 config. It is upto the manufacturer to incorporate reference specs in their products and tier models accordingly for consumers.

I gradually moved from two speaker stereo to 5:1 surround and then to 7:1 surround. I now think I've gone as far as I can with the sound quality/aesthetic discussion at home so I doubt ceiling or up-firing speakers will ever happen. Nice thought though.

The Onkyo upward firers I have sit on top of my front Tannoy floor standers...they were there a week before the wife even noticed them (_;)
