Good price for the features and power this offers. Step up from the X3300W which is also well priced right now. Not suited for most setups but for those that have the need, get it while you can. Read More

Very good price, I'm surprised it's dropped this low already. I was tempted at £1100 before Xmas, then saw it drop to £999, but ended up buying a different amp.
This will be ideal for any 9 channel Atmos/DTS:X setups with the added bonus of Heos allowing you to enjoy music in another room.

So tempted. If I wake during the night, I'm going to have to get it.

I'd double check to make sure it supports HDMI 2.0b before paying out :)

Wow is it still 2014? Think Loughborough Guy will be along any moment to compare this to a Sony. I'm sure you'll find it hillarious (_;)

Yamaha Aventage range does sound great for music. Onkyo packs a punch for movies. Denon not so bad either. Budget?

True. Needed a bit more information to have an idea what you meant exactly.

I've heard the 2300. Substantially less enjoyable, music wise, compared to the 3300. But if you're on a strict budget, it's hard to beat.

Useful - how about for films? Does it have all of the same gubbings as the 2300? Spotify, ATMOS etc?

I was going to go for a 2300 and a set of Kef Q900...in fact this entire set;

Wondering if its worth the extra £300 for the X4300

Movies, more power, more oomph. With those speakers i really wouldn't be looking at the 2300 at all.

Thanks for the info buddy - much appreciated. Looks like I will be eating dust for the foreseeable future then.

The 3300 is certainly very capable. Great features and sound. The Yamaha RX-A660 does sound sightly better to me but lacks inputs.

3300 or 4300? Good question. I would go for the 3300 in this case unless you need things the latter has. Former has no phono input for example, and no HEOS support.

If I am going to do this, I am going to do this correctly and only once, so I will go for the 4300 I think.

In your experience, would you say this is likely to drop any further in the next few months? New house ready in 3 months and I'd rather buy it then...but if I need to get it now...I could be persuaded :D

Doubt it will drop by much more in 3 months.
Piece of advice: if your room has hard floors or large area with window panes / solid blinds, the higher spec AVRs (and speakers) will be wasted, save your money and get the X2300W.
And also get extended warranty wherever possible if you want to keep the AVR for a long time, quality control isn't what it used to be, it's pot luck with these new AVRs (no matter the manufacturer) - you could end up with something that lasts decades or end up with it breaking frequently (and sod's law it'll start breaking just outside of the manufacturer warranty.)
BTW Richersounds will actually refund you the extended warranty cost if you don't claim a repair over its lifetime. I don't know any other retailer who offers this.

The X2300 sounds worse than the X3300. Doesn't have as much body or clarity in my tests. Haven't heard the X4300 but i can imagine.
Dampening always helps. Just my opinion though.
