is this as good as the Onkyo HT-S6305B £299 at bb

5.1 isnt enough

I was looking at other options like the onkyo 608 & yamaha 667 but add decent speakers & your looking at £650 at least! These systems whilst nice to have offer more connectivity then I will ever use...I'm a novice so the simpler the better, all I need is 3 or 4 hdmi inputs & an optical a self setup mic would be good too. Denon is a decent make so I'm sure this can't sound half bad...can't find many reviews tho and it'd be good to hear of other options within this price bracket :)

As 'porter' asked earlier, is this one better or the Onkyo here ;

How does this compare to teh Sony Htas5 5.1 which has been sold on Amazon recently at £180 then £130 and now back up to £300ish. Is there a significant difference?

As luck would have it, Loughboro would not know what or who Denon were, so no chance of a "celebrity" guest appearance on this thread. (_;)

The 608 appears to be a better and more specified amp for the money, but this is still good and will keep most people happy.
