The Denon D-M37DAB is a splendid micro HiFi system that packs a great many features into a compact package. Ideal as a main system where space is at a premium or for use in a bedroom or dining room; wherever you put it, the D-M37DAB will entertain you with its rich and dynamic sound.

The DM37DAB features a CD player with support for CD-R/-RW discs, a DAB, FM (with RDS) and AM tuner with auto tuning and 100 presets, a 2 x 30 watt amplifier and a pair of 2-way stereo speakers. Everything you need in one, discreet micro system. But there's more to this little wonder... The DM37DAB will also play MP3 & WMA files from CD or via its front panel USB socket - to which you can connect compatible MP3 players, memory sticks or portable hard drives. There's even a stereo minijack connection for iPods or non-USB MP3 players. You can also connect to a subwoofer for more bass, or an external recorder (such as a MiniDisc, cassette, PC or MP3). It also features stereo inputs for connecting other external devices.

With its excellent, compact design, superb build quality and terrific audio performance, it's clear that this is a winning micro-system solution.

What hifi gives it a 5star rating and says it betters previous catagory leader Onkyo Cr515 and its replacement CR525.

http://whathifi.com/Review/Denon-D-M37DAB/

whathifi.com "Much like the unit itself, the sound is solid and full-bodied, but at the same time never lacking attention to detail.", "Dynamically it's capable too, delivering a broad soundstage that pushes in to the corners of our listening room."

October 2008 "Solid, stylish build; extensive functionality; bold, solid, detailed sound", "The Denon is capable of some serious weight and bottom-end power", "With its wealth of features and functions, along with top-notch sound, this as [sic] a micro of undoubted quality", "Denon's micro systems are back with a vengeance - all this for £300 has to be a bargain".

This is 300 else where with speakers and 225-230 for just the main unit everywhere else so at 218.69 delivered it is an absolute bargain!!!

Oh and I can vouch for the fact it has speakers with it as mine has just been delivered and if you were wondering about the quality then what hifi magazine gave the speakers a great write up as well.

All in all a superb little system and a miles better alternative to getting an ipod dock.

Use voucher 5HIFI to get this price.

Would never touch a Denon now.
Had a DM3 mini system but worked fine for a couple of years then the CD drive starts giving problems. Turns out to be a very common problem on that model. Check the reports and the non working scrap/spares stuff on ebay and you'll see what I mean.

I read about similar problems on the next model after mine too.
Fantastic when it worked, but would never buy another.
Probably the only thing which I should have forked out the money for a five year guarantee.

Seriously look at the Onkyo models from richer sounds.

To be honest mate, read the reviews. I really don't think a prestigious hifi magazine would recommend this unit as best in class if it was as bad as you say. The review explicity say this is rated above the Onkyo's.....

Hifi magazines only state opinions on brand new items. They do not carry out reviews on 18 month old items.

These units fail on their own, not due to misuse or overuse.
Just stating my experience.
The evidence is out there, google Denon DM3 if you don't believe me.

By all means go out and buy yourself a Denon. Hope you also get yourself a 5 year warranty to go with it.

I agree with elpatcho about What HIFI i have always used WHF for infomation in the past when up grading. Even though a Fan of Nad, Teac & Cambridge Audio.

I would recommend to anyone. If your thinking about buying a HiFi buy What HIFI magazine first.

Also Deon is a respected brand name to.

Yes but are you honestly suggesting that they would not know about Denon as a brand having poor reliability and not put this forward in a review?

Maybe you had a bad experience but it doesn't apply to all other products......
