Isn't DAB due to die out soon?
hahahaha not likely
The DAB system has recently adopted the new AAC+ audio codec, and existing stations that use the old MP2 format will probably be switched off completely in the UK in around 3-4 years' time.

OK as long as it uses the AAC+ audio codec. - Worth checking perhaps or do all Dab radios have that now?
It has DAB+

Is that the new DAB spec?

Some confusion here. You are talking about DAB+ not DAB. So "the DAB system" has not adopted anything. This Denon supports DAB+ which uses HE-AAC aka eAAC+.

Now the upshot is that this device supports DAB+ so it should be quite future-proof. Basically DAB (with no plus) is worse than FM. Luckily this has FM too. So use FM until DAB+ stations start broadcasting in the UK, which they won't for a good few years yet.

do all Dab radios have that now?
Only if they say DAB+ which is a separate system to DAB.
