4p cheaper here:

https://www.forumhifivisual.co.uk/Dvd/Dvd_Players/DENON_DVD1940_DVD_PLAYER_DENON_1940_1866.html

I know, 4p is 4p......

It's also advertised as multi-region on this site. If that means it ships as this, you're potentially saving £10.04

EDIT: after a little searching, you can make it multi-region yourself, saving the £10 from the main OPs item:

http://cid-da4eb5d6938f4a57.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Denon%20Multi%20Region%20Modification%20Files/Denon%20DVD-1940%20Multi%20Region%20Modification%20%7C0%20Instructions.zip

Download the zip file and extract the doc and data file. Follow the instructions in the document.

The file is virus free - already checked it :)

I looked at that deal before posting and it says this in it...This model is not available as a mail order or website purchase. Please phone us on 0115 9622150 for details of price, availability, delivery or installation advice So unless you live right next door to the store so you can pick it up it will most likely cost you quite a bit more then 4p.

Unlucky, but it is a completely different brand. Denon is high end and isn't in the same ball park. For example the Denon DVD-A1XVA retails at over 2 grand.

Very nice DVD player! I was looking at getting one, but went for a PS3 instead..... only thing i'm missing from doing so, is the multi region playback!

Yes, but then it also says:

* Please note: all of our prices include VAT, Packaging and delivery
to any UK mainland address.

Therefore you call them and according to their website, they will package and deliver it for this price. You can even quote them this on the phone!

I think it says that by default for all of their offers. Give them a call and try it.

I rang them up and they said that they can't deliver Denon. Apparently, if you're a registered Denon dealer Denon don't like mail order to be done.

Really friendly and helpful guy though and bizarrely it turned out that we might be in some way related. Small world or what?
