"The items available on the site for clearance are end of line, surplus or customer return stock."

But would still be interested to know if this is a genuine site and sell authentic items please?
#2
i have also came across this site few days ago ,it came up on goggle shopping whilst i was looking for a camera and wondred exactly the same weather it was genuine or not ?
#3
I've just done a bit of research about this lot. The address given is a mail forwarding service. To me it seems a tad worrysome. They could be legit though.
#4
#5
so does that mean its legit ?
#6
i hope its legit i jumped straight in at the thought of another handbag lol

i paid by paypal, i presumed as they are associated with paypal that they must be trustworthy?
#7
yeah would of thought so grumpiness and to come up on google shopping would of thought so as well but ...
#8
oh well i'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best, will post any problems, delivery times etc on here for the benefit of others as and when.

i remember posting a deal from wet and wild cosmetics on here not long after i first become a member. One of the mods, it wasn't amibees, removed it until they had checked out their authenticity. Once it was decided it was legit it was reposted. Point i'm trying to make is that amibees is a mod, maybe she already checked them out before posting?? Shes off line just now maybe we could ask her when she becomes available.

im just cautious grumpiness as few weeks ago i thought i found a deal on ghds nearly brought them as well but decied to post on here first good job i did was a dodgy site they removed post straight away and told me so i prob think this site is ok :)

The thing that the companies house flagged up for me, is that there was a change in company director and name fairly recently. I couldn't find any info on what the original name of Sconto Limited did.

I looked at the electrical things, and oddly enough there are GHD's at a low price. My first thought was that they could be knock-offs. I could be wrong though, and I hope I am.

Just for added information if needed.

I have been duped by a company in the past who used PayPal to take payment, I thought i was covered when i realised the item wasn't ever coming. I wasn't. You are only covered if you purchase the item via Ebay, and if you buy on the internet through PayPal, you are doing so at your own risk.

I am not saying that this is one of these companies though, just be careful and don't assume you are covered just because they use PayPal.
#13
thanks for that tip clairisw will remember that

Just took a chance and paid by paypal. The item I bought is no longer on the site so I guess they probably just have 1 of each item? Its for me personally so i can live with it being slightly tattered.

a) The fact they accept Paypal means absolutely nothing. Anyone can accept Paypal. And no, your payment is not protected.
b) The fact they are on google shopping, means absolutely nothing. Anyone can get onto google shopping.
c) The fact Amibees posted it, doesn't really mean that much either. Amibees tends to just post absolutely anything and everything.
d) The site looks OK, apart from the completely made up prices. There are places where they quote the exact same items, as having completely different RRP's, absolutely all over the place. Most the stuff isn't even that cheap and can be found new on the net for cheaper.

Personally would (and will) stay well clear.

Don't rely on paypal!

If the item doesn't come and you set up complaint with paypal they will find in your favour. Chances are though when the go to get the money from the sellers account , it will be empty and paypal will send you a helpful email along the lines of

' Yes we know you have not recieved your item. We tried to get the money back from the seller but they have none so tough luck, we now consider the matter closed. '

True fact. Has happened to me in the past.

You can still make a dispute on Paypal, if they cannot provide tracking, you win and money gets reversed.

They have a customer sevice number 0845 345 4581 Maybe you can call and pay by credit card?.

That is not true, you are covered for item not received via Paypal AND as of the 1st of this month you are now covered for items not as described also.

I don't know what happened in your case, but items ARE covered for non Ebay sales.

I stupidly bought these hair straighteners for my daughter before I found out they were fakes (should have known by the price) Tried to cancel, but they said they were already shipped. However, my daughter says they are as good as the real thing. Wouldn't recommed the company though and wouldn't buy again.

I ordered three items for the other half last week (two pair of shoes and a bag, all Guess) and they arrived no problem.

All original boxes.

Communicaton could have been better but everything arrived in good order.

I just came thru this offer and click on the link... but my Web of trust add-on I have on mozilla didn´t let me go thru, and it showed it as "red" so it means, a place that is not to be trusted, so be careful about buying stuff there, and the ones who already did, well good luck
