Get someone to measure from left edge of pupil to left edge of other pupil at about arms length away with a ruler. Their left eye should look straight at your right eye and then vice versa for other eye to ensure accuracy

I just ordered a pair of the bronze frames. I have been looking for a pair of prescription sunglasses for a while now. Goot find... heat added. Any idea what colour the tints are likely to be? I've asked them. I'm not fussed at this price though. Thanks! :-)

Thanks ordered, look good!

Anyone know how reliable this company are??
#9
stupid question but which pair is bronze and which ones gunmetal :S

id like to order the bottom colour?!

and which ones do normal eyesite people order as i dont need reading glasses or bifocals, im guessing distant?

You can measure the distance yourself up close to a mirror with a regular ruler. I don; think slight differences in error make a huge difference as you can just opt for the default width on the order form.

I messured my distance this way on a previous online order for glasses and they cmae out fine, just get someone to verify what you have messured.

I ordered a pair - it let me choose the Gunmetal which I have paid for so it'll be interesting to se if they honour the order.

Great deal - I was thinking of going into a store to pick a pair of prescription glasses up too.

how trust-worthy is this website?

taken from website,
Are you qualified Opticians?
Of our three directors, one is a qualified optometrist; one is a qualified dispensing optician; the other is a qualified ophthalmic optical technician. All of the labs that we use employ fully qualified Optical technicians. However, we are retailers of optical goods, not opticians. If you require an eyetest or eye consultation you should visit your local optician.

How can a company run with only one optometrist?? :-S Just because the labs employ Optical techs, doesnt mean they do. They confirm they are not opticians. 'Prescription' sunglasses?
You also have to wonder if the designer framers are legitimate. This company was setup in 2005.

You make some interesting points...

i dont see any problem with the company, it may just be a small company. at least it has an optometrist, and a technician for making the lenses. They have been going for 4 years so I doubt that they are dodgy.

Seems they use an external lab to build the glasses anyway, i dont think theres anything there that rings any alarm bells!

I bought some Ray-Ban perscription aviators last year. My eyes are too close togther for the size of the glasses, but they sent them away to a company that deals with this kind of issue. The glasses came back fine.

Hot deal, these are really nice sunnies!

Think they need to update their site...

Do you sell brand names /designer labels?
We do not sell branded frames at this stage. At present we are focusing upon the affordable ranges of quality frames that hopefully address the needs of 80% of our customer base. We do, however, hope to have a range in the near future.

Hi

Don't know if anyone can help, I have tried for these sunglasses and others and I can't get them for that price, they keep coming up at £99. What am I doing wrong??? I am not adding any extras just selecting the sunglasses, for distance.

I'm not sure if it is because of the prescription my mum needs.

Which is Right eye - Sph +6.00 CYL -2.50 Axis- 170
Left eye - SPH +2.75 Balance

Can anyone help???

i think it is to do with your prescription. Beacuse you have +6.00 Sph, you need thinner lenses to fit in the frames, and the thinner lenses cost 70 quid, which takes your total to 99. If you look the thinner lenses checkbox is filled and you cant uncheck it.

Is it because your choosing tinited lenses? It says on one of the final order pages (where you choose the type of lense) that they include tinted lenses as standard.

Plenty of other Ted Baker sunglasses in different styles for £29. I've just ordered the white pair. Great price!

Can't see an issue there myself, they retail products manufactured to a specification by a 3rd party. What they seem to be saying is that you need to head to the optician first. Anyone can sell perscription glasses, you can even pick some up in your local supermarket.

got mine today too, good fast service, but the lenses are too fat for my prescription lol, i should have listened to their recommendation of thinning the lenses down abit.

will send them an email asking how much it would cost to get thinner lenses.

Out of interest what is your prescription?

The thin lenses work out way too expensive.
#40
-4.75, -1.25, 70 right

-5.25, -5.0, 113 left

hmm £40 more for thin lenses is abit much, im having second thoughts on changing the lenses too as they dont look too bad with thick lenses.
