I guess you have to be a 10:10 customer to get this price. Says £16 for the TV powerdown one anyway.
    Wowhats
It would be a good deal but in principle I wouldn't buy one from any Electric company who still continue to 'Rip Off' customers by charging excessive high prices when electric and gas wholesale prices have dropped. Like most utilities and local councils it's just, take, take, take as much as they can. And we 'Joe Public' have to payup or else! That's my 'rant' for today....I feel a lot better now......LOL

Just had someone round to look at my house insulation, getting roof and cavity walls done for free. Means I wont have to pay the energy companies as much now :)

Umm only 1 per person too by the looks of it.

These were given away for free a few months back with a news of the world coupon which you took to sainsburys too collect them,i got 2 tv powerdowns and 1 desktop powerdown the next week and they have been very useful,i wouldn't pay £16 but if you can get it for £3 its a decent buy.

these were free a while ago. As you could expect they then started to appear on ebay in the boxes of various quantities

    Free?
How did you get that then. Is it via qualifying benefits or some deal that I have missed.
    cheers

My flatmate lost his job, so as he now gets housing benefit he can claim to have my house insulated. It doesn't matter who owns the property it seems, as long as one person living there gets benefits of some sort (almost any IIRC). There are also grants available even if you don't claim benefits, not sure how much though.

Can't remember who I applied through, may have been these: http://www.cheapinsulation.co.uk/

Just to add, they will be laying 200mm of insulation in the loft and blowing some sort of polystyrene type beads into the walls. No idea if beads are good or bad, but apparently my extension has zero insulation at present so it'll help! The cost is £640ish but will all be covered by a grant.

yeah my parents had something similar done a while back if i remember correctly.
