great price and fantastic movie, ordered!

Just hope a good deal comes up on the sequel now, so I can have the set, though I still think the first one was stronger...

If you have a setup that supports decent 3d, I thoroughly recommend you get that version. Utterly brilliant in 3d, as is the second one too.
Too many people complain 3d is rubbish technology IMHA because they experience it on a rubbish system, or passive 3d technology like you get in the cinema. Decent modern active system on a large TV & audio setup is a thousand times better than older tech that gave it a bad name.

The only thing which will elevate 3D TV, quality active equipment or not, to anything above a gimmick, is if the new glasses-free technology gains traction and eventually becomes affordable down the line. Until then, having to put special glasses on every time you want to watch something, and take them off every time you want to get up and do something else while the movie is playing, is absurd and is easily the main reason the majority of consumers simply aren't interested.

Yeah, it's a real hardship having to put on glasses once or twice a week, then taking them off to go to the loo and make a cuppa. Each to their own though.
