Hey guys,

This won't be for everyone, but for those wanting to get the Digital Guardian Edition of Destiny on PS4, you can save about £32 by buying it from the US PSN Store as opposed to the UK one. The UK price is £84.99, but on the US Store it works out at around £53 (£52.53 to be precise!)

You can buy US PSN Credit from Amazon.com, and redeem it to a US PSN account (easy & free to create). If your PS4 system is set as the primary system for your US account, then you'll be able to play through the game and earn trophies etc. all on your UK account.

Hope this helps those with US accounts looking to save some cash on Destiny.

Digital Guardian Edition includes:
- Digital download of Destiny
- Early access to Vanguard Armory and Player Emblem pre-order bonus
- Reservation for two upcoming Destiny Expansions, “The Dark Below” and “House of Wolves”
- Collector’s Edition Digital Content Pack: Exclusive in-game Ghost Casing, Player Ship, and Player Emblem
- Includes the Destiny Expansion Pass

Great deal. might go for the digital version cause I have a feeling this will be a game you will keep and play for a long time. bought Lego mavel for $30 (£17) when it was £30 in the UK at the time.

Amazing deal, discovered this recently and am now buying majority of my new releases like this. Gonna get the physical limited edition for destiny though

I would say as an always online game you maybe connecting to servers in the US. It could have an impact on gameplay, would recommend getting a US beta code or play a demo if possible first.

Is this definitely the case?

I would have thought if playing through UK account (after buying from US store) you would be on UK servers

it might not even be that good though. Overhyped as a lot of games are these days like Watch Dogs.

I imagine the game is region free, but it would be played on US servers automatically I assume (didn't have a choice in the beta)

Hype is what keeps this god forsaken industry alive, I mean people still buy ea and activision games.

Next up sims 4.

Yup and Bungie are matters of hype with their ARGs. Halo 3 was a pile of tripe yet sold well thanks to hype.

This i s a good deal. i have loads of games from the us psn and they work perfect with my uk profile.
#11
If you play on a UK account surely the server would be UK based?
#12
Yes uk servers you just download the game on the us account. make that a primary so all accounts on your ps4 can play that accounts games. and then log in to your uk account and start the game. Ive got 2k14, flower, lego Marvel Superheroes, assassin's creed, fifa 14.All play fine on and offline on my uk account.

I'd say you are correct. I have a couple of shooters off the US store & when it comes to servers they always seem to look for the closest to your position. I've been happy with how everything works so far your experience may differ.

Nope you set the us account as the primary on the ps4 then log out of the us account log into your uk account with the plus on it and play online through uk.

You might bear this in mind. DLC is region locked on ALL games, so once the maps drop, ie the exapnsion packs etc, it wont work on your console. I found this out the hard way by buying black ops maps.
#20
Will this work on ps3? No idea how to do this, but willing to try it at the prices.

This bundle includes the first two expansions on the US Store. Which will will work fine. Any future DLC can be simply bought from the US PSN, and will work fine with this version.

Sorry im new to PSN, and only found out about gamesharing etc and read that DLC was region locked. So US dlc wont work over here and vice versa. Just wary about splashing out and it not working.

I think you're confusing this instance of region locking.

It basically means that DLC must be from the same region as the base game. So if you own the European version of game X, you must buy the DLC from the European PSN. If you own the USA version, you must buy the the DLC from the USA PSN. It doesn't matter what region you actually live in.

So in laymens terms, I open a new sony acc on the US site, and activate that to my console. Then I pre order, and make sure the funds are in my account on a few days before the release date.

How will I be able to use this on my current psn account? Not sure if these things are locked regarding playability

Sorry for the noob questions, just cant afford a mistake. I was going to make a pre order on the UK store for the game, but might aswell do this if I can? Worked out using ebay I can get $90.00 for £58.98 on the US store, or the game without the dlc is £49.99 on the UK store.

cheers for any advice

Right before I buy can I get a few things answered.

Ive opened a US acc with sony, ive logged on etc, and its all legit. Ive activated my system, and im good to go, the PSN store is in dollars.

So now I buy the psn cards from ebay, and add them to my sony acc, and then pre order via the psn store on my US acc.

Will they take the funds straight away? Doesnt make any difference to be honest as im not buying anything else.

Will I 100% be ok to play on my own UK gamertag, inc the extra maps etc, once its downloaded and running. Do I need to do anything regarding making the account primary or something? Not sure how to do this, im on ps3.

Thanks guys

US takes money straight away. If you buy the credit from Amazon US will cost around £5 cheaper than Ebay if your bank charges around £1 for the conversion. It is not locked. Just have the US account set to primary on your console.

Regarding amazon being cheaper, I just tried and it said online codes are only available to US customers, which is a bummer, as im borderline on being able to afford this, and as you said, it works out at £5 cheaper, at around £52.50
#28
You cant make an address up like on sony, as it wont match the card details

It doesn't matter it doesn't get checked. All you need is a US billing address added. People buy from Amazon US all the time. Alaska is best as has no sales tax. :)

Cost me £54.00 for $90.00. I pre-ordered and paid straight away, got my new theme up and running already :)

Not sure how the beta works, no word yet, but ive got a code linked to my UK acc too.

Cheers guys. I was borderline on affording this, just lost my job and the future is bleak regarding buying future games, so this is big for me. Cost an extra £4 and I get the exapnsion packs :)

Downloading the beta now, I very excite. :)

Somebody please explain...

I have ps plus on my uk account and thats the account i use to buy digital games, its also my ps4s primary account. My brothers account has no ps plus but he can still play my games from my account and he can play online no problems.

1) but once i have made the us account my ps4s primary account, will my brother still be able to play online on his account?

2) will my brothers account still have access to the games bought on my uk account?

So confusing. This is why these deals go cold. But if someone can help with these 2 questions, someone who has done this and knows from experience, that would be great.

Make sure your UK account is set to Primary you can have more than one account on a console that is Primary. So with UK & US both being Primary your brother will have no problems.

I didnt know you could have 2 primary accounts? I thought one would override the other. But thats good to know.
