My 3-year old loves it. Managed to empty it in about five minutes. Bathroom floor is now the cleanest it's ever been.

Most pointless product ever, cheap though!
most pointless post ever

An automatic soap dispenser. That removes the need to press a dirty lever about 2 seconds before you wash your hands.

You don't see the issue with this?

It's the 0.1% of bacteria it doesn't kill that worries me.

I don' t understand how it reduces bacteria. Even if the press down bit has bacteria on it, it would vanish as you wash your hands. IYSWIM :)

Is this a nationwide deal?

Pointless, the reason they're a pound. When do we get the no touch taps? Surely they'd be the bigger problem as you'll have touched them with a dirty hand and would need to touch again after washing.

i agree said this to the missus and she realised they were no good really, yes you can get no touch taps but you'd really have to not touch ANYTHING to TRY and avoid germs and even then you would still get germs.

stupid product great price for the handwash and batteries.

This gets posted once every month I'm sure and it always gets voted hot. I can see how it has a novelty factor but... Its an automatic soap dispenser. It depresses me immensely every time I see it posted.

These are great if you have a toddler who finds handwash pumps hard to use, as most do.

Pop the lid (the end with the valve) in very hot (not boiling) water for 20 seconds & it will come off easily with a pull, then fill with another handwash that will come at a much cheaper price!

I recommend getting one of a similar consistency (or thinner) to the original though, it clogs up otherwise.

For the more adventurous amongst you, you can also open the case, then the pump mechanism & put a piece of rubber cut to size in the pump, meaning you get a much more appropriate amount of soap instead of the rather liberal amount it gives you as standard, this isnt difficult for anyone who is used to opening stuff & seeing how it works!

Heat should be added on this one. Is it just the white dispenser availabe?

Add automatic doors and light switch to that as well, otherwise you'll be leaving the bathroom with the same bacteria you entered with

To me this product is worthless.

You have the normal liquid where you have to push and this one.

Now on the normal one, you push wash your hands with a 99.9% killing bacteria product and push on the tap holder

On this one, you don't touch wash yourself with a 99.9% killing bacteria product and push on the tap holder.

The result is just the same in the end.

The invention that is totally worthless. Thank you dettol

Try picking one of the bloody things up to turn it off without it going off all over the place. Customer had one in bathroom I was working in and I had to move it. Damn thing senses you anywhere near it and dispenses soap at will

Fantastic will get a few spares as i already have 2.X)

I've heard the arguments for and against these so many times so let me sum it up:

Too big, requires batteries, dispenses too much soap, cant be refilled easily, serves no scientific advantage over any other soap dispenser.

Vs

It's good for kids and people with the use of only one arm (stroke victims, birth defects, amputees)

Does it deserve to be hot? Probably. Because some people will find it useful. Does the very fact that this product was made and advertised to 'supposedly' improve levels of hygiene above any other soap dispenser annoy me? Yes.

i think its the mechamics of touching the alternative bottle .. ie you with bacteria ridden hands grip it and squeeze it and put the bottle down again before washing your hands ... next person likewise .. hence the bottle surface becomes the bacteria breeding ground ...

It's not worthless. Dettol has made loads of money selling these things to the gullible.

this will be for the old batch that had a recall, due to no eject button to change the refill

Forget about the bacteria that is a red herring, using as a normal dispenser these are great

Buying Poundlands stock of machines would be cheaper than buying refill's.

We use these because we have members of the family with limited mobility, they find them much easier to use than a manual pump.
#34
You English people lack so much hygeine skill. Of course a touch free soap dispenser is better than a manual one. When's the last time you washed the pump head of the push down dispensers?

wow excellent price

Those are great. You can refill easily with a syringe. For that price is a no brainer... hor!

The only cause for it going crazy is when the soap goes on the sensor. Wipe it out and you are good to go!

Why do you need to wash the head of the pump down dispenser? First of all very few people use refills in this country as the soap bottles with pumps are always on offer and therefore normally cheaper than refills. So those pumps heads are disposed of ona regular basis.

Secondly what does it matter if the pump head is dirty? You are washing your hands straight after touching it.

As has already been discussed the worst point of the whole process of going to the toilet is touching the taps to turn them on then touching them after to turn them off.

The whole door handle / light switch issue is less of an issue as it only applies to washing your hands for another reason. When going to the toilet you haven't wiped your backside at the time of touching the door handle/light switch.

Kids love to use them for novelty, so they wash their hands more often. Hot!
