The flavour thing made me chuckle. My mum says flavour.:D

I also love the idea of no-touch, despite the idea of the product being that you wash your hands immediately afterward.:p

Utterly pointless item. Hopefully this is Detol realising this and getting rid of excess stock!

got one in the bathroom, love it, tho paid full price for mine some time ago from tesco, great product, refills are expensive at £3 each but if you prod lid you can get it off and fill with your own antibacterial handwash.

Does it matter if the top of a soap dispenser is the most bactieria riddle thing in nature if, after touching it, YOU WASH YOUR HANDS ANYWAY!!!!!

Dettol must be laughing at all the mugs that buy that one.

I was just coming to post this info. What a con this item is. May be cool looking etc but a complete waste if you think it is "more hyginic". As said - you touch the soap dispenser then WASH YOUR HANDS. Also - you then touch the tap you touched before washing your hand. Hmmmm...
#19
Unless you have a sensor on your tap?!! lol
#21
Also worth considering jobs like tattooing where cross contamination of soap dispensers is very realistic and dangerous if you have touch it to wash your hands, not that pointless an invention in the end I guess.
#22
OP: "they come with stickers the kids can stick on the dispencer"

Que? I thought the whole point was that your little treasures would succomb to some horrible fatal disease if they touched something?
#23
Funny that in hospitals, where this sort of contamination is a reality rather than some marketing wheeze dreamed up to snag the gullible, they don't see the need to have non-touch dispensers.

very true, couldn't get over the advert about having to touch normal handwashers? but your washing the germs off when using handwash so ???
#25
and i bet the same people will be buying their yakut with its "friendly" bacteria.

Spot on - waste of money by a company that profiteers from scaremongering the misinformed public.

You mean apart from the fact they were gloves as well?
#28
That's the thing i don't get, the tap is full of germs anyway in most cases.

you could fill it with a spirit like vodka and it would make for a nifty shot dispenser :D
#30
Unlikely to be nationwide, but please report back if you find it elsewhere!

Like what contamination? After touching the soap dispnser, they was their hands! Then wait for it turn off the tap they just touched before washing, ohhhhhh the dilemma. As moob says they wear gloves same for any person doing a job like that.

We have just had handsfree soap and gel dispensers installed in the hospital where I work and non touch taps!
#36
None in the hospital I visited today. Perhaps the marketing men haven't wined and dined the management there yet...
#37
might not make sense but its a fun lil thing!
