You put your hand(s) underneath, and it dispenses a 'squirt' of handwash oO

The whole point is no touch no bacteria, but you touch and the taps!!

Plus once you squirt you have to wash your hands so no bacteria. So no point in this no touch system!

I've had these since they came out and they are fantastic to stop cross contamination, heat

my daughter can only use one hand so this is easy for her to use
#9
Does it come with a refill?
#10
I could only see the point of these if you also have no contact taps & a hand dryer rather than towels.

Does it come with a refill?

It comes with one refill. I never but the original Dettol after the first one is empty.

Use a blunt knife/ flat screwdriver to take the lid off and refill with a cheaper hand wash.

YouTube videos if how to do it.

Hows that then? Do you wash the taps with it too then or do they wash themselves lol

The unit is pointless imo and a handwash pump works pretty fine

Do people think standard hand washes are pointless too as you need to touch the taps after using them then? All about reducing exposure and risk to bacteria I would of thought.
#23
Pointless, solves a problem that didn't need solving. Agree that kids like it, but away from that naff.
#24
These are stupid, nothing wrong with standard hand soap dispensers as you wash your hands anyway... Just another thing to break
#25
Has anybody noticed on the tv advert that when the lady washes her hands she doesn't dry them after and she leaves the tap running. OCD?
#26
For the people who are missing the point about other people who see this as pointless (if that makes sense)...

When you go to wash your hands using a normal pump handwash, yes the top of the pump will have bacteria on, but you are then washing the bacteria off with the soap. The taps, as others have mentioned, will have the bacteria on still (assuming you turned them on to rinse your hands before using soap) so the bacteria is transferred back to your hands again when you turn the taps off.

Anyway, I have given heat as this is a good price for the unit if you still want it to help encourage kids to wash by using a gadget. However, regular handwash pumps are cheaper and equally as effective.

I have refilled mine with my favorite soap... I drilled a hole in the top and put a rubber grommet for easy re filling..

They are machines and can't be stupid or clever, so your first claim is stupid. Nobody said there is anything wrong with standard hand soap dispensers. This is giving people a choice. How would you like it if there was no choice in the type of car, washing machine, dishwasher or even soap you purchase?

Thanks op

Got 2 today (one for upstairs and one for downstairs). They are a bit pointless but the novelty factor hasn't worn off just yet. Thanks!
#31
We use another brand (Simplehuman), they are perfect for kitchen and bathroom as you put soap of your hands before touching the taps, so no cross contamination from tap controls. I must admit to being a touch OCD about clean hands!
#32
I'm buying two!
#33
So how do you turn the tap off after you have used the soap and washed your hands DOH!
People have far too much money nowadays.

Note I had two of these, and after a few weeks they both ended up going off randomly emptying their entire soap contents into the sink. I returned them and got new ones in exchange, which ended up doing the same thing eventually. Binned them. Also bought one for a friend, who had the same thing happen.

So a waste of money and soap...

Is this national? Anyone bought one from the Preston stores?

That comparison is in itself stupid. I am happy to amend my first statement and say that the idea of this item is stupid.

These machines are a classic case of innovation for the sake of innovation instead of using the time to solve an ACTUAL ISSUE. I would have preferred the people who thought of this and invented this, to have instead spent the time making something that actually has a purpose, and/or done nothing and donated the money they spent making this product to charity.

Also, you say in your argument that not making something like this, and only having standard soap dispensers, is like only
#37
Having one type of car. Yet, there are lots of types of soap dispensers that are not automatic, eg the ones you push down, the ones you push inwards normally found in public toilets etc. this makes your car argument completely invalid.
#38
Apparently you can modify these quite easily to halve the amout of soap dispensed (by turning a valve component around) just search youtube for 'Lysol (Dettol) No Touch Soap Dispenser Less Soap Mod'.
#39
None touch soap for ocd people with touchless taps and air driers? Useless for average Joe
