A big budget cross between The Omen and The Firm, this Hollywood horror movie plays on the devilish reputation lawyers have in a fantastic piece of Satanic hokum. Keanu Reeves plays a plucky, ambitious but moral solicitor in a small town practice, who is offered a job by a big city law firm, which is run by Al Pacino AKA The Devil himself.
Taking his wife, portrayed by future Oscar winner Charlize Theron, with him, at first all goes well at his new job and his charismatic boss seems to like him. But his wife has doubts, Reeves' principles are slipping and all is not what it seems...Soon she's packed off to the loony bin and the demonic fun really starts.
This is no work of art and Pacino knows it, so he clicks into full on shouting and glaring mode, chewing the walls in a truly outrageous performance. No opportunity to overact is left unused and the result is great entertainment. Fans of high budget Satanic shenanigans are going to love this...
