Some questions on these things, at the minute I have a strategically hidden cable from my study to the living room, I was planning in getting a cable on the outside of the house to tidy this up but these would be a cheapy and handier option. so....

Do I simply plug one in the stud and one in the livign room, job done?

I have 4 devices in the living room with are all attached to a ethernet switch, will the switch work with this plug?

If I wanted to add a third plug upstairs can i do do they only work in pairs?

Will they work in 4 way adapters?

Lastly will the speed be close enough to an ethernet cable?

Thanks I know I have asked a lot.

If I wanted to add a third plug upstairs can i do do they only work in pairs? YOU NEED/BEST TO BUY MATCHING PLUGS - SO 2 SETS OF THESE.

Will they work in 4 way adapters? YES - MAYBE AT REDUCED SPEED

Lastly will the speed be close enough to an ethernet cable? 85Mbps MAX SO NO. IN REALITY I'D SAY 50

Thanks I know I have asked a lot.

Really? From the information I have been given in the past 85's will produce a lot less than this, have I been misled then? As whats the pint of buying 500's then

Probably the limiting factor will be your broadband speed anyway, unless you transfer a lot of files from one computer to another on your own network or use local network media streaming. 50 or even 20 mbits will keep up with most people's broadband.

COLD, think they may have "sold out" as it's not letting me order on 2 different cards, good while it lasted though.

Hi all, Can some knowledgable kind person please answer this question. At my parents house I struggle to get a wireless signal on my iPad when I am in certain parts of the house. If I use these plugs and plug one end into the router will I need another wireless router in the room I need the Internet in? Will any wireless router work? Or Is there another device for doing this? Thanks in Advance.

Forget about 85mbps,get min 200 or better still 500mbps. You will never get nowhere near the advertised speeds.

This should work fine. As long as your electricity circuits are on the same ring main. I have one connected to the router in the living room then the other connected to another room with a 4 port switch feeding a tv, a sky box and a ps3 - works a treat. :D

Just a note - the network cables come included. Mine were pretty long ones too so great for equipment thats not too close.
