Perhaps I'm being daft here, but how is it a gigabit port if it manages only 600mbps?

Because you have other noise by running data through your electric socket so theoretically you can only get 600mbps from this model.

But in real world scenario you should only be getting 300-400 Mbps depend how good your house wiring is.

The link between the ethernet port and your device will sync at 1gbps (it has to sync at 10, 100, or 1000) but the speed between the two adapters will only be 600 (far less in real life).

Can anyone see if these are AV2? I don't think they are.

of limited use as it seems not be wifi?

Can anyone recommend a decent and cheap wifi one?

Good for anyone who xfrs medium or large files around on their LAN, also good for stable connex as wi-fi is generally slower and more prone to ghosts.

You need gigabit ports if you hope to exceed 100mb/s of std lan ports, so you will never get 1Gb/s between ports but you should easily be getting in the 200-600 range between computers on your lan and if you have gigabit i/net speeds ?
