Cracking price - if only I could justify getting some. It might be worth starting a DIY project just to persuade the missus to allow me to!

its been on since august;-)

I got these well before Xmas they were £89.99 with a leaflet code and also a free drill bit selection supposedly worth £24.99, although it did'nt have any sds bits in it which seemed a bit daft. Still I use them with the cordless.

£87.49 now

Do you not need to be registered as a business for Screwfix?

No you can either go into the store (similar setup to argos really) or order online

yeh Dewalt is the name to buy but I'm not sure this is that good value and it has been this price since the summer.

Looking at the pictures, isn't the drill a corded drill whereas the description would lead you to think both drill and driver are cordless. And at 12v, I don't think that driver is powerful enough, perhaps ok for very basic home use.

What you talking about 'not sure this is that good value' I've never ever seen a dewalt SDS drill go for less than £100 let alone with a drill driver plus the price now is only £87.49 its a stonking deal.

Ask ANY tradesman what they think about De Walt or go to ANY of the diy forums and ask before you buy.
Nothing like the quality that they used to be.

Nothing more than a DIY drill since Black & Decker took them over.

Any recommendations then Rizla - looking for a hammer drill for ~£100 - would quite like an SDS one, but not essential. Corded/Cordless - probably corded is my preference, but really I'm not too fussed.

Not any more, before they made some quality gear now taken over by B&D and the quality has gone down hill. Stick with makita. Excellent drills.

I second Makita.
I picked up the cordless posted on here a few months ago, its brillant

Was going to say that to the person who went for the 12v Dewalt, the 18v Makita that they have had on offer for ages now at around £90 to £100 is a better product by quite a bit.

I borrowed one before buying and wasn't overly impressed, then opted for a 24v Bosch which was worse, it wasn't Bosch blue right enough but then if it was obviously it would have cost a lot more. Guess where it went.....straight back!

Went for the Makita and its been brilliant

Dewalt has been part of Black and Decker for nearly 50 years I very much doubt you remember Dewalt tools before this, they are quality have a look round the building sites mate probably every other tradesman owns one.
