Does seem to be the cheapest available so heat added.

Is that price in B&Q too so if they do another discount day over Easter that might be a better place to buy.

I've got a set of these (present from Father when I bought my first house) and they have served me sooo well over the years. Excellent set if you're looking for this sort of thing.

Another set claiming to contain loads of pieces of which most are screwdriver bits which, let's face it everyone already has loads of or that you can pick up from Screwfix for £3.

This is a cheap price based on the claimed RRP but in reality is a similar product to the widely touted 100 piece Bosch one that's been on and off for the last few months at £15 from Homebase etc.

You know, of course, that Dewalt are just Black and Decker by another name.

Most of their gear is reasonable quality but vastly overpriced and they're by no means the "Rolls Royce" of power tools although they've done a fantastic marketing job to make people believe they are.

And being owned by, or being a subsidiary of means it's exactly the same stuff?

FWIW, I have the pilot point drill bits which I use solely for alu work, and they're absolute class. I also have a DW router and again it's no 'rolls royce' (or Festool) but a contender for the best for the money. Same with my Dewalt mains and 14.4v drills now that I think about it.

Marketing is important, but so is reliability in industry - and I know a lot of people who swear by Dewalt as their bread and butter tools.

Might wait for a 15% off day at B&Q for these ;)

It has been this price for some time now

cold based on above comments (RRP and screwdriver bits) .........and for those voting hot. If you want I have a car for sale, it had an RRP of £100,000 and its yours for only £20,000! That's a huge saving of £80,000! Therefore it's a bargin!

Small print (RRP = Robbing Retail Price)
