Same price at screwfix at the moment (http://www.screwfix.com/prods/14303/Power-Tools/Heat-Guns/DeWalt-DW340K-240V-Hot-Air-Gun) so possible saving on shipping there. Hot find otherwise (see what i did there?)

dunno abt this gun, but the dent we removed from the bumper was with the HAIRDRYER which softened the material, and then we just poked it out (dent) from the inner part of the bumper. no melting, no paint damage...it was on a silver car

I've had three of these DeWalt heat guns and they all die after about 4-6 months of use. The internals start rattling about inside, sparks start flying out, then they cease to work. The RRP is heavily inflated as these where around £25-30 on tooledup.com when I bought ours around three years ago.

IMHO you would be much better of with a cheap ScrewFix one. Not only do they perform just as well, they are also easier to handle as the DeWalt one is big and lumbersome. The Dewalt is as noisy as a hairdryer and performs like one too.

I now own a Bosch Professional (£80) heat gun which has been going strong for the last 14 months. Even on the lowest setting it puts out more heat than the Dewalt on maximum heat and you can hardly hear the thing working.

We have these heat guns at work and they seem fine - one broke but they come with a one year guarantee. I bought mine from Screwfix, and all I had to do was take the old (broken) one with the receipt and I got a new one straight away.

Fine for £22 and the others have been working great for 2 years.

Hi guys, these are pretty decent "when they work" however over the last year I am on my third one. All of a sudden they lose heat whilst your using them and they become more of a haridryer and seriously they have only enough heat to dry your hair. Good thing, from screwfix there is a no nonesense returns and they sort a replacement out but once more and forget it, ill still with Bosch for heatguns or even something cheaper from LIDL lol
