Agreed the whole show was amazing but the ending wasn't good enough :( Heat for the offer :)

Can I just pay £17 and have the first four series?

Heat anyway for the price.

yeah went down hill after a great first few series'

last season was so bad but B-movie bad so worth it for the massive plot holes etc

Ending was phenomenal.

[SPOILER]

Utterly bleak. Glad they didn't cater to the herd and do something typically cheesy like a shoot out or a 'living happily ever after', Dexter getting caught, or some predictable tidying-up-of-the-loose-moral-ends. This show was too progressive to go out in that fashion. Notice how popular the Breaking Bad finale was? Rave reviews over... a shoot out. Exactly what you expect with Americans behind the wheel. Two dimensional braindeads.

And for the people complaining about the latter seasons of Dex? They were great in their own way. Instead of boring us with endless hack n slash, they focused on Dexter's journey (while still keeping the format). I think a lot of people watched this show and didn't get it - they thought it was a Big Bad gore fest? The main story line was always about Dexter's emotional journey. So if you weren't switched on to that, you were going to left disappointed after S3/S4 when they really dialed that up.

That ending.. just guts you emotionally when you think about it oO

Rubbish

The writers ran out of steam after Trinity and the brilliant John Lithgow and brought in awful characters and plot lines
It didn't go crap through lack of gore, it went crap by killing off loved characters for no reason at all except to prolong Dexter being brought to justice
A serial killer going into exile instead of having a true ending and being forced to leave his son with another serial killer? That's how low the series went

I personally didn't feel for Dexter's anguish towards the end as Michael C Hall's acting at that stage was pants, either because he was bored, wasn't looking forward to the rubbish ending or because his own, real life Cancer scare had affected him

I loved Dexter all the way through. I'm a true fan and am on my 4th run of the series on Netflix. Stop complaining about the ending. Dexter lives on and I like to think he reunites with Lumen and gets his son off that murdering witch Hannah and in 20 years time we'll have a new show called 'Harrison'

Not really. After The Simpsons I kinda expect shows to turn to crap when they go on too long.

Dexter was entertaining enough in the earlier seasons, as long as you never wondered how come Miami had absolutely no CCTV cameras.

People ARE allowed to complain you know

Far more people were disappointed with the ending than were happy with it

Dexter's lacklustre ending wasn't helped by Breaking Bad having a stellar conclusion around the same time
Gilligan's writers showed the world how it should be done

Yeah or how you can actually see Dexter doing things in the show. I mean, was there a cameraman following Dexter? How did Dexter not see him? Was it Vince, he looks like a watcher :D

No such thing as plot holes, only parts of the story untold. Anything can be explained away. Always find it funny how people can come up with plot holes, but seemingly can't come up with explanations. X)

I loved Hannah! Lumen was great, but Dexter would ruin her I think. :p

Very good show and good price. I watched till about season 5 and it was my favorite show at the time, cant comment on the seasons after that.

Again, tempting! But as I fan watch 1-7 on CBS for nowt, and only season 8 not seen, & given at least 3 series are awful, maybe I'll give it a swerve! Ditto SoA box sets!

Seasons 7 and 8 were filmed back to back and showtime cut the production time by 3 months on the final season so it could air alongside Ray Donovan. It doesn't excuse the ending but explains the drop off in quality.
