Sadly the XMASOFFER code has expired. However you can use the ASPERITY25 code to get it for £224.99 which still beats the current Amazon price.
Back in stock at Philips Online Shop use code xmasoffer to get for £209.99 delivered
I ordered this soundbar 5 days ago - great price at £209 - only disappointment I have is that it's now gone back up to 249 as I should've bought two at the same time. Waiting on the price falling again before ordering the other one.

Can't believe this was voted cold - it won the best soundbar award for under £300 from what HIFI - crazy!
Now £233
Thanks op. done alot of research and testing on different bars and although I haven't had a chance to test this one as it's not stocked at locals, all the reviews point to this bar:-) almost bought this for 249 yesterday. ordered and heat added

Shhhhhhh... it is your heart's deepest secret. Don't let any one know, worst is your missus finds out and make you kneel and promise not to buy.

Scart Freeview, Digital TV Receiver / Recorder / Tuner USB Memory Recorder, SD Card Reader, hinged for LCD TVs £19.90 inc delivery @ Amazon (via Digi-fun)

Very good reviews on Amazon. This seems ideal for people without the room for a freeview/recorder box and don't have it built in. Will even work with old CRT's as long as they have a scart socket…

O set up the digi box, and everything was perfect - but no sound! I tried to phone 0845 6040105, for help, was told to change it to 0345 but british tele won't recognise that number. I may have done something dumb. The mute, on both tv, and box, remotes works, and even indicates on screen, but still no sound. Can you guide me through checks to see what I may have done wrong> I have checked in the scarts for firm fixtures, and even disconnected the power for a minute or two, but doesn't work. Help! I am a silly old man so spell out everything simply. Thanks
I got my unit - installation was easy. The channels were all mixed up but if you enable LCN mode in the TV Setup menu they appear in the right places.

However, 2 problems.

1. The recordings are in some odd format which I'm having difficulty handling on the PC. If you change recording to PS mode, you do get MPG files but they're split up into 1GB chunks. Not sure how to put them back together. Also only the first one is recognised properly, though WMP will play the others.

2. My unit reboots and freezes alot and the recording is pretty unreliable. Perhaps a faulty unit? Anyone else experiencing this?

Can you pause and rewind TV on this?
When watching things you recorded on itearlier, your can pause and rewind. When watching live tv you can pause as well. Read the manual first to choose the timeshift option which suits you best. The manual is horrible btw.

old tech and lo def but not bad price. most tvs these days dont have scart but if you have an old tv kicking around.

Every TV I've seen has at least 1 scart.
You haven't seen a really old TV then.

No 'cos back in the day I lived on Ramen noodles. I could only afford to watch telly when I could afford a big coat to wear outside so that I could spy on the neighbours affluence.

Who'd have thought that the TV would now have such a relationship to the technological marvel that is the SCART.

3 cheers for the SCART!
