Still voted hot by the way. £61 for a 160Gb freeview unit is stunning :-D

I think that these are only single tuner, so you can only record one thing at a time (and not watch another live program - although you can watch a previous recording). If this is not an issue for you, then I think it's supposed to be a fairly reliable box.

Personally I'd only consider a true twin tuner which will allow 2 simultaneous recordings whilst watching a previous recording. This is what our old Digifusion does, and we do need the ability to record 2 channels at once quite often when programmes overlap.

Anybody looking at buy a pvr should check out the forums over at Digitalspy.

99% sure that this one cannot be upgraded. This box was originally designed by Access Devices, who I think have now been bought by somebody else (Step One perhaps?). There are some single tuners out there that are upgradable, but like I say I really don't think this is one of them. Also, apparantly the original software had it's problems although an ota software update was a big improvment. If this comes with the new software it may be ok, but there is no guarantee that if you get the older software it would be updated in the future.

If you still like the sound of this box, but don't feel that you need the 160GB hard disk, the 80GB version is available from Richer Sounds (instore - so 'phone first) for £39.95.

That's a good price from richer sounds, looked on there the other day but they were all a lot dearer.
