OP - Huge thanks for posting this. Been wanting a 65" set for some time and had 99% made my decision and was intending to purchase this weekend. I've bought this now instead, straight after getting home from work. You just saved me around £500! The name is irrelevant to me and I'm convinced by the comments in this thread and the reviews elswhere, this will be perfectly adequate. It may not have 'all' the frills, but it has all the essentials and that is good enough for me. Best wishes to all who have purchased. I hope we will all be delighted. Special thanks to actual owners who have posted realities not uninformed opinions. Your comments make the decision even more satisfying and saved hours of 'teeth-gnashing' indecision! :)Heat added of course.

Gotta be hot for size/price.

Not really heard of Digihome before...but I'm guessing = supermarket brand = a vestel?
#3
i have a 48 inch digihome smart led and the sound is so bad i got a sound bar to channel it away from the tv speakers as they just rattle

This is a unbelievable price paid £599 only 3 weeks ago lol
This tv is fantastic at this price you will not be disappointed hd picture is outstanding on the same level as my 50 inch sony which I paid £649 for 6 month ago
Heat again :-)

Just to let people know that this tv as 4 hdmi inputs not 2 and it also as optical out for 5.1 which was a nice surprise for me :-)
#6
That's a lot of tv for the money :) Very tempted...

Yes it's a Vestel, the 'original' Vestel it is based on seems to review well in the rest of the world. The Digihome is getting some good reviews at Tesco (many of the reviews are from HUKD members ;))

Does anyone know if it has freesat? The Tesco description is wildly inaccurate (States 2 HDMI when there are 4 and says NO to Optical out when it actually does!). I can see an antenna input and what looks like a satalite input next to it in the picture. Mine is coming Sat so I have a long weekend to play around with the set up :)

What's the returns policy if you don't like it etc or would it have to be faulty to be returned within say 30 days
#12
Anyone know if it will be okay for gaming, such as input lag?

One of the reviews on tesco website, stated great picture etc, but the playstation now seemed slower. Hmmmm

I ordered this tv 3 week ago when it was £599 so just phoned them up and got the difference refunded well happy

£400 extra for 3d which isnt yet widely on the market for channels does seem of a waste

Hmmmmmmm very tempted, daft as this sounds though, I did go look at the 65 inch Sony at Curry's the other day and I was not that impressed, I even took my own usb stick with hd test clips.

My 720p 60 plasma from 2007 picture quality for TV and gaming, looked better!

Tempted but lot of messing about sending it back If I don't like it, but at this price and 30 day no quibble..... Major dilemma

Why do people buy **** like this? Why not just get a good TV for your money? There is a really nice 50 inch Sony that owns this pos for £500, I mean I bet the latency on this is 50+, but on the sony it is only 8ms which is amazing for a TV.

Very true, would be nice to see them side by side to compare picture quality.

For those that have bought it, is the menu system or smart features laggy at all? And what's normal standard definition TV like on it?

Can the feet / stand, be move to a more central point, like the 65 inch Sony?

Based on viewing the back of the pictures on tesco site, it looks like a no.

im sure the feet can only go in one place , but never used mine as it went straight on wall, only problem with wall mount is poor access to connections but how often do you need to plug something else into your tv once you set it up except the usb for a memory stick or hdd, so I added a 12 inch usb lead so I have easy access.

That user interface is identical to the JVC/Vestel we have in the bedroom.
So I guess my same comments will apply, the TV is great, catchup services are a little laggy and can drop out/buffer which can be annoying, you can also assume that there is no on/off only standby and that the little blue light is annoying.

That said, jeez what do you want for the money on a 65" telly

Wouldn't touch these with a barg pole - the smaller tv's have poor resolution so the larger ones will be worse.

well theres a 9 excellent reviews on tescos website , and half a dozen reviews about this tv from ppl that have bought one and all seam very happy with the tv from on this website, but obviously you know best? , but you have a opinion and if you don't want to buy the tv no one is forcing you, but cant see how you can review the quality of a product without seeing it first , and as Tesco do a 30 day return and refund no quibble policy theres no risk.

No one gonna mention the warranty is only 12 month? Ad 149.99 for the 5 year warranty

So technically the other TV sets people are comparing such as the Sonys above which include a 5 year warranty should be compared to a price of £698.99

Dont get me wrong it's a big set but for the equivalent of £700 I'd much prefer a branded one from elsewhere with a 5 year warranty

Think already put a bit of uniquegeek info on the previous threads for this model.

It is a brilliant smartTV, the screen contrast is great, the response is great and
for the money, there is nothing that comes close at this size.

One of the really outstanding "features" of this, the 55" and the 50" models
is that you can press a button on the remote that powers down the
screen, while you are connected to it, thus allowing, whatever you are listening
to from an audio point of view, to still be broadcast without the screen on or
burning through its light cycles!

For anyone knocking this tv and then comparing it to a 65" samsung/sony/panasonic
they are all stupid money for the same thing.. the refresh, blacks and contrasts on
these newer, as in 2014 Vestel chipsets, is much better than most of the 5 year old
reviews from previous "oh vestel are crap" owners..

If you do buy one at £549, you will have an all singing, all dancing massive smartTV
that will last until the influx of 4k/8k TV's come 2016/2017 and then you can buy one
of those at less than a grand, to replace this one, if you want!

There was a 50" Digihome on here just after Christmas, which I bought. Within a week some components exploded inside the TV, there was the smell of burning coming out of it and I sent it back for a refund. To be fair to Tesco they were very fast about sorting it out but I wouldn't buy a Digihome again. Maybe I was just unlucky but I won't be voting on this.

Think you will always get some faulty ones no matter which brand you buy possibly more sore with a budget brand, but you pays your money and takes your risk. What ever happened to the European law that's says fit for purpose and if a expensive item failed within 4 years you can pursue a repair against the supplier?

Sadly the placement of the feet on the set , rather than been a more central affair and that the legs can not be placed at a different point on the set , is the only thing stopping me buying this set.

*********** CONSIDER THIS BEFORE MAKING THE PURCHASE ******************

So if you are not wall mounting this TV , consider that you will need a TV stand / Unit with a width of around 146 CM's.....that is a big width for a suitable TV stand .....I tried to look up a TV stand with such a width size and i could not find one.....Perhaps Ikea would have a suitable cheaply priced TV unit !!

So factor in the cost of a new stand at the same time as buying this TV.
