I just picked up the Thomson PVR for £79.99 yesterday (this one: http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=394009&cm_sp=FeatureEnd-_-Digital_TV_recorders-_-position2).

Anyone know if there's much to choose between them? Basically, is it worth me carting the Thomson one back and ordering this instead?

Cheers,

John.

John, have a search for the thread last week for the 80gb ones of these. There's plenty of comparisons in there to the thompson.

I went for the 160gb Digihome one for the old dear, sounded the better deal. Being delivered today too.

The reviews for the Thomson one don't look good, here's an example:

Thanks everyone ... the reviews for the Thomson aren't looking great, although there are a few good ones out there (I found a decent magazine write up too).

Despite that, I'm going to hang onto it for now; it's a Christmas present, so I'll wait and see what the recipient thinks before offering to take it back!

As always, thanks for the speedy replies here. Much appreciated!

Brilliant DVR.... I have 2 of the same machine albeit with Techwood rebranding. Something to consider is that even though it has twin tuners, this unit will only record one freeview channel whilst you are watching (or not) the same or another freeview channel. You can upgrade the firmware to allow recording of two channels simutaneously but this has the effect of slowing down the refresh rate of the Electronic Programming Guide (EPG).Still, for the price, this is excellent... voted HOT!!

is this the same as Digihome DTR160 DTR
