do you get a tent with it or could you use it anywhere?:whistling:

This deal came out April last year so will be hard pushed to find this other than in isolated stores. Great price though!
#5
Saw this in two stores in Glasgow yesterday - the one at the Clyde tunnel, and the one at Milngavie. Not listed as a current deal, but may be getting cleared from a central warehouse somewhere.
#6
Would this be ok to use indoors if you have a s**t signal and no aerial on the roof?

Some people talk utter rubbish.

Red hot!!!!
#10
Matbe add the price in title, might get more heat.
HOT anyhow for me
#11
Bought one last year for £60 & works really well when caravanning so voted hot at half that price! Mine was made by Comag so decent quality too.
#12
These tend to be used by people who have caravans and motorhomes as many sites have no decent reception for freeview, also they can be used in northern france to pick up english channels.
They do work very well apparently according to people I speak to on motorhome forums.
#13
Also seems a good price so hot from me.

Not sure what a teletubby has to do with it. Looks like a hot deal if you are an aspiring gypsy.

Hot and rep

Popped into my local branch and the manager phoned around 5 stores none had stock. It was on sale April last year and he said it was subject to a national recall so there shouldn't be stock anywhere except a few rogues ones.

Shame.... but it will be on sale at Lidls and Aldi again in the next few weeks. Not at this great price though..
#16
A friend of mine bought one of these yesterday and commented that he thought the F-connectors were too small for the cable. Having just tried it with mine, it looks like they are indeed the wrong size of connectors for the cable.

No big deal, I can pick up some connectors at Maplin tomorrow - I wonder if that's the reason for the recall last year?

Dead right... I have one. Even analogue TV can be very poor in rural areas. It has been fine for a couple of years, although I did upgrade to a 60cm dish and tripod for better pictures. especially when further north

One feature is a really sensitive tuner menu which makes tuning and dish siting a doddle, as it is far more sensitive and interactive than the satellite meter I have, and I even used it for this when I replaced my dish at home for a bigger one to help compensate for poor signal due to trees.
#18
Are you able to pick up english channels other than transmitted by sky?
#19
Just been onto customer service and they have confirmed none in stock anywhere near me in the Midlands. Was the store in glasgow recenetly opened? She said new stores often have promotion deals of old stock. This happened to one of my local stores that opened last year. It was full of knocked down old stock on the opening day to get the punters in. It opened in the middle summer and they were selling ski trousers at half price!!
#20
Nope - both well established stores. Maybe they just sent all their old stock up to Scotland?!
#21
This deal it's so hot!

All the freesat stuff, c4/film4/c5/bbc/itv/etc/etc

And to be pedantic, sky dont transmit anything, they are just a customer of the satellite company which broadcasts various sky boquets.

It's so hot only Cludeo can handle it. Anyone seen any stock anywhere else? LIdl CS said it's not been available for over 12 months,

Yes, and the ones on the Sky epg that are not encrypted.
Dish size is a bit limiting, the one in the box is small, so that limits WHICH satellites will give reasonable reception - I use mine with a larger dish an an aluminium tripod so can get far more.

Maxview sell a VERY similar dish system (maybe a clone of it?) so their site gives some info on setting up etc.
http://www.maxview.ltd.uk/products/info_MXL006.html
they also do a free to air receiver and list SOME of the chanels that can be received with this type pf box on their site: http://www.maxview.ltd.uk/products/info_MXL014_20.html
#25
Maplin also sell a similar system for £49.99 but that's currently out of stock.

I think the cold votes are coming from the fact that it appears to be a very very localised deal on old stock.

It is cracking price and red hot but I've got more chance of a date with Cheryl Cole tonight than getting my hands on one of these ;-)

So many people seem to take great pleasure in shooting things down when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. The pessimistic dumbass sort with an opinion on everything.

I haven't seen this exact model in action but if the product performs as it claims then this is a VERY hot deal. Thank you for the post. Keep em coming :-)
#31
5 or 6 of these in stock in the Lidl in Blantyre last night too.
Good deal at the price...
#32
This deal is RED HOT. This looks (from the small pic) like a Comag SL65-12v.

I bought mine for £65 around a year ago. I haven't missed a Chelsea game yet! All you need is to run the correct firmware (masterpiece or truman) and these will decrypt Digi TV on 1w and a few others (as well as every thing FTA). Was better when Premier Germany was using Nagra 2 encryption but Digi TV gives you all you need if you just want football.

Take a look here.

Yes some people do watch tv while they are camping especially if they have families and the little ones have gone to bed early. They can't go out for a drive or to the local they have to stay with the children.
#34
Will this work if connected to an old sky dish or a communal sky dish in a flat for instance? Or should it be pointed in a different direction from a Sky dish?
#35
Any one seen these outside of the Glasgow stores?

None in the Midlands and Lidl Customer services said there should be none anywhere anyway as they were recalled last year. I'd travel a few miles but Glasgow is a bit far!
#36
Good deal if you can find one. Might have a look in my local store on the way home tonight.

If u want to receive freesat channels it should be pointed at 28 Degrees east the same satellite transponder that is used for Sky.

Bought the maplin one last year for £45, money well spent. Use my old sky box instead & take my sky card away with me.
