says it dosnt receive freeview channels

That's correct, you only get Freeview via a normal TV aerial but you get 200+ free channels from a box like this and a satellite dish. There's a couple of the more popular Freeview channels not on FTA sat at the moment, but this might change next year when Freesat launches..

...not to be confused with FreesatFromSky, which is just a way of getting you to pay for a Sky box and then tempt you into upgrading! Anyhow, these are the sort of channels you'd get with this box: http://www.freesatfromsky.com/?pID=3

Is this the sort of box the bars use to pick up 3pm kick off matches on saturdays?

I'm confused.. can this be connected to a sky dish via a quad LNB or aerial only?

And what channels would you get with this?

Sky via LNB, it's NOT a freeview digibox

If you intend to use this receiver to get Sky Free to Air Channels, you may as well use a Sky Receiver.

This receiver is really best targeted towards other satellites, and for that you will need another dish/lnb set up.

Trust me, this receiver is not very " flexible " or very well supported, there are far better options available for any " hint hint " stuff.

It will never be for Sky!

It's a free to air receiver.

No Sky channels are free to air on satellite except Sky News.

Utter tosh, pull out your Sky Card for evidence.

There are loads of Free to Air Channels on Sky.

It would be helpful to other members if you checked your facts before posting such rubbish.:x

Those 'free' channels are not Sky channels.

They are shopping/religion channels and other independent channels that just happen to share the same satellite.

If they were Sky channels they would be encrypted, and you would be paying the Murdoch family a subscription to watch them.

I think you are splitting hairs and giving people misleading info, they are all available Free to Air on a Sky Receiver and are also part of the Sky EPG.
