looks like the kworld dvb-t 300u which I have. http://www.computershopper.co.uk/shopper/reviews/85141/kworld-dvbt-300u.html . Got the blue screen of death on many occasions using this product, so i'd avoid if i were you. Also I don't think kworld support this model anymore.

Looks like the kworld that scan sell for just under £10.

The software it comes with is very basic, but has bda driver so you can use it with any (bda compliant) software you like. (eg, dvbviewer pro).

These things are total trash, unless you've got a house ariel socket near your pc or a laptop that can be set up next to one. DO NOT BOTHER buying this if you are going to rely on the mini ariel that come with these or a normal portable tv ariel because you'll only be able to watch tv if you hold the ariel up while watching, it's not fun trust me.

Agree the normal aerials that come with them are poor at best.

I have the WandTV and use it with a powered amplified aerial and it works fine.

yes you need a very good signal to recieve anything, the mini aerial is useless.

Agreed with a couple of earlier posters. I've had one of these for about 12 months now and gave up trying to use it due the blue screen, system hangs etc.
#11
As others have said I would avoid this like the plague. I've got one and the software is absolutely useless and I wouldn't even use one if it was free.
#12
yes scan have been selling these £10 so says it all

So after all these posts saying how **** it is and that it can be bought for £5 less elsewhere how come it's hot at 112 degrees? Has anyone actually voted it hot?

Just to add my 'vote' to how pants this one is, assuming it's the Kworld one that it looks to be.

I got one about 2 years ago from Scan. Even then it was only about £10.

Didn't even bother sending it back. I've earned the value back tenfold with lifetime free delivery since then anyway :whistling:

To say it doesn't work with Vista is an understatement. More like it doesn't work with Windows.
#15
I take it it doesn't work with Mac then.

I've certainly never encountered any blue screen or other system crashes with this (if it is a kworld rebadged).

As I said earlier, it doesn't matter how basic/bad the software it comes with is because you can use any software you want - you wouldn't use the supplied s/w with ANY brand of dvb adapter when there are far better and more powerful options available.

The aerial supplied with any dvb adapter is also useless as someone mentioned, but thats due to the tx low power outputs used in the UK. a simple solution is to plug it into your household aerial (you wouldn't try to use a standard freeview box with an indoor aerial (unless you lived right next to the transmitter) and this is no different).

For the £10 scan sell it for it's alright - not spectacular but not completely useless either. At £15 I think it's a little too expensive.
