Do you work for Microsoft by any chance? ;)

no

jrodthealien
I have Malwarebytes but haven't used it in a while. Forgot I had it actually

then don't forget ;)

I've noticed a few other internet security software deals listed on here recently (Kaspersky, AVG, Bitdefender) and none of them have gone cold,

tough yours went cold... but if you check I also made similar comments on some of those and will continue to do so because I make that choice and because (as per the last few letters of my original post IMHO

I couldn't actually care less whether it goes hot or cold. I was merely making an observation. Peace & Love to you brother

Are people voting cold because there are free internet security suites available?

yes

jrodthealien
Because I've had Microsoft Security Essentials for a couple of years and my PC has tons of spyware.

then you are doing something wrong! I had MSE installed on 22 internet cafe pc's and the server and never had an issue.

jrodthealien
So if one of the people who voted cold would like to give some feedback on the quality/effectiveness of this software, especially for finding and removing spyware, I'm all ears.

install MSE and protect USB devices as well. Run full scan - for added security download and install Malwarebytes link and update / run

both are free and both are highly recommended from several sources

no point paying for bloated software when there is free software that does the same job

if you are getting viruses even with MSE then you need to look at USER error rather than generally pointing the finger at software IMHO

Thanks for the info. Do you work for Microsoft by any chance? ;) I know how to use the software, and I have no problems with viruses. I just didn't think MSE scanned for Spyware in particular, as I recently ran a full scan (YES a full scan, not a quick scan) and it didn't find anything. I then ran a scan using a trial of Spyware Nuker which found quite a bit, but to remove it they expected me to pay $39.99 to upgrade so I went online looking for cheap software to remove this junk and found the above.

I have Malwarebytes but haven't used it in a while. Forgot I had it actually.

I've noticed a few other internet security software deals listed on here recently (Kaspersky, AVG, Bitdefender) and none of them have gone cold, so it can't be just because free software is available that this is being voted cold, or else surely those would be cold also?

Are people voting cold because there are free internet security suites available? Because I've had Microsoft Security Essentials for a couple of years and my PC has tons of spyware. That's why I've purchased this. It's cheap and it claims to remove spyware, plus it's for multiple PCs and you usually have to pay more for that. So if one of the people who voted cold would like to give some feedback on the quality/effectiveness of this software, especially for finding and removing spyware, I'm all ears. Seriously, I'd like to know if this software is worth the price, because one would assume it isn't, based on the temperature of this deal. Or are we voting cold simply because 'Microsoft Security Essentials is free'? I'm not having a rant. I'd just like to know, as I have ordered this and I thought it seemed like a pretty decent deal.
