Looked at lots of reviews and just about to purchase. This one seems to be the best of whats out there at the price. All seem to have niggles particularly noisy motors. This model appears to fare ok.Thought of buying one from AppliancesDirect but some of their reviews are pure horror stories. Have bought from Costco before and they were excellent. Heat from me.

Costco over Appliances Direct every day of the week for me.

Never used a dehumidifier but Costco do have a generous refund policy if the product doesn't work well

anyone know how this fairs over the £80 and £100 offering from screwfix?

just we need one and looking for the best value around £100, and not much offering on the preowned front.

I have been using the £80 screwfix one for the last 2 winters, it has been brilliant. It brings the humidity down in a few hours from 75% to 50%. It can be a little bit noisy, so I never leave it on overnight (think noisy desk fan, not washing machine). I would be happy to recommend that one.

Screwfix model gets some very good reviews but the negative ones talk of poor build quality and returns. From what ive read these comments are common to most brands at the lower end of the price range. The Dimplex appears straightforward but a bit more expensive. Most only offer a 1 year warranty which is concerning in this day and age.

I have the £100 one and had it running for 7+ months (nearly none stop) . Working fine,

+ for screwfix plus point would be the digital display, looks pretty neat product.

+ for this one is that it's branded dimplex and is backed by Costco customer service.

What type is this a compressor or Desiccant?
Also is this better than the recent ecoair that was posted?

This one is a compressor model, better than desiccant in my opinion with more economical power consumption and easier maintenance.

The EcoAir 18L model recently came on Lightning deal sale is alright, I had to return mine. It was really noisy and the side vents don't seem to do a good job of extraction. Worst of all was the removal and insertion of the tank, which was quite fiddly. 2H/4H timer only, auto cut-off only if the tank gets full, the hose included is too small for any use, the list goes on. We returned it straight away.

We have an Ebac 21L model (3850e) which has been brilliant functionally, no wheels or hose, but tank is easy to handle, noise level is almost like a small fridge.
