Unfortunately, I have often tried to take advantage of these advertised deals and have given up after 30 minutes of putting in dates and finding the price offered is nothing like the advertised price. I believe Lastminute cons users into visiting the site in the hope of selling a more expensive package (which is often available for less elsewhere). Sorry - but cold.
#2
You voted cold before you tried? Interesting. So any deal posted at a site you missed out on a deal at gets a cold vote, even before you look and see?
I think the word "fool" comes to mind.
#3
For the record, I got £20 tickets easily for Blood Brothers. One or 2 of the shows are today only, which might not suit everybody (but doesn't make it a bad deal).
#4
i recomend stomp!

I think the shows that are "today only" are updated throughout the week

Wish I lived in London, I would be there every night :x

Can you recommend any uber-cheap hotels? Coming down on the 27th-31st Aug?
#9
What are the meals like at the restuarants? Has anyone had them?

Lol - I go by the meal not by the show! (Kidding for those who think I am being serious - ;-) )

If you are in London the the Official Leicester Sq Ticket Booth (in the middle of the square) sometimes have top price seats with an £11 discount as HERE

Make sure you go to the official one and not one of the many touts round the edge of the square.

Not a huge saving but I dont think you can get these discounted from anywhere else.

Hot thanks
Just got two tickets for Stomp

They serve really basic food, and most of the restaurants are of the touristy type where the quality is hardly there as they know most of their diners only visit once anyways. If its a 3-course meal, its probably a small cheap salad, chicken something, and a scoop of ice cream at the end.

I see one of the shows has La Tasca as the restaurant - we've never had any problems with their food! Mmmm.

I ought to start looking at the shows though -

Which one would be good for my husband but that I could tolerate as well - he's not into lovey dovey stuff.

I went to see Chun Yi on Saturday, excellent for a guy. Its a martial arts demonstration with a story. Good fun and impressive stuff.

Id recoment it, especically at these prices.

Damn, booked, the Kung Fu one yesterday without the dinner. This looks a better deal.
Is it possible to cancel and get a refund on these deals ?

Also, can the tickets be collected at any time before the performance (like 10 minutes before) or do they have to be collected one hour before ?
#22
Chun Yi looks fantastic - very colourful and full of action - unfortunately no availability via last minute! :-(

Last minute shows three dates as available but they aren't

Will keep looking"!

Having done a few of these I can say that the quality of the food is generaly very good (though not always). It really depends on the restaraunt. What you will find with most of them is that it is usualy a 2 course meal with side dishes costing extra. Then there is desert + drinks. In the one we went to last night there was even a suppliment of £2 for some of the starters and main courses. Was very nice but ended up with an extra £26 for 3 of us and that was keeping it lean. Even taking that in to account, worked out at less then £30 a head and we had a really enjoyable evening.

Graybags, do read my words carefully : having tried unsuccessfully in the past to get a deal I concluded Lastminute "deals" were just cons and decided not to use any more of my time trying to get the advertised deals. It seems that this deal is indeed available given subsequent comments in this thread and I stand corrected. Nevertheless I thought it good to offer the benefit of my own experience as we all do on this site without the need to use a word like fool. Name calling is never a good idea and reflects poorly on the caller, unfortunately!
#25
Is it worth holding out to buy theatre tickets, to wait for deals like this? We're going to London in October to see a couple of shows, so rather than buy tickets now, should I wait till mid sept or so?
#26
I think offering your past experience is one thing, and helpful. Voting cold without trying the deal in question is foolish. I reserve the word "fool" for foolish people. If name call reflects poorly upon me, so be it.
I feel voting cold without a reason reflects more poorly.
