You do have to sign up, but only click the first box, the second two you can unclick
If you start to get unwanted mail from them you can usually take your self off the mailing list by clikcing on a link at the bottom of the email.

Thanks, shame the menu isn't online (Homegrown and Local that is)

Edit, oh it is, just isn't labelled on the site, just had the PDF logo with no words.

And it appears that you are getting your wine and coffee for free, and the cost of 2 courses is £29.

So in effect it's a free bottle of wine and a cup of coffee. Still a pretty good offer.

Why register?

Anyway is not worth it in my view. Go to the Cafe du Marche next door and spend £20 more for a proper tasty meal for two. (talking about Barbican here)

Great find!

As I'm here, quite how they justify the price of a goats' cheese* and rocket risotto being the same price as haddock or chicken is beyond me as not only are the ingredients cheaper, so is the preparation. Not just picking on Malmaison here as the overpricing of veggie meals is a widespread problem in restaurants in my experience.

And no, I'm not a veggie, as many a dead pig/hake/pheasant/mussel would attest were they able.

* Unless it really does come from blue goats in which case, I'm in!

Had a meal in the Newcastle Hotel just before new year.

I would describe the food as 'edible' at best.

The service was shocking, maybe the worst I have ever had. deffo bottom 3 ever.

The wife and I tried to leave before the staff brought out our already paid for desserts, due to the wait. They then kept us waiting even longer to sign to say we had got the meal,by which time they had brought out the desserts.

Would maybe eat there again if it was free, MAYBE.
