Phuket is fun. Theres an open market at the back of the Beach strip with lots of bars and tables. When I went there with the Missus and some friends the Ladyboys were dancing on top of the tables showing off what they had and in some cases "hadnt" . A bit shocking but thats Phuket for you. Had a really nice time there tho. Fod and bars were good as was the hotel.

Hi I am hoping to go to Thailand in January on my own, although I will be spending part of the time with someone who owns a business outside the main tourist area. Would it be possible to go either to phuket at the end of the holiday and fly back to London from there?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend the best things to do\places to see in Thailand not necessarily phuket

I have been told to book a flight via skyscanner is this a good idea or is there a cheaper better way.

Do I need a visa..vaccination...I have in the past had tablets for malaria and was v ill so would rather not unless necessary

Money a..get it here or in Thailand ?

Anything else anyone would like to share

Thank you very much jane

Internal flights are super cheap if booked in advance (use skyscanner to search), so you can go to phuket and book where you want to go from there if cheaper.

Skyscanner is good for searching, book via the options on there.

Visa, free tourist for a month I think, just turn up at the airport and they'll stamp your passport, no advance visa needed.

Vaccination, speak to your GP, they'll look at where you are going and advise what you need. Phuket doesn't have a high risk of malaria, but your GP will advise better.

Money, take cash and change there. Loads of money changers around. Better rate outside of the airport.

For phuket would advise either a hire car or moped as taxis are really expensive (I stayed outside of patong). The tour's are really cheap though.
