Men of War is a bargain for 1.95.....if you like that kind of game.

I purchased Knights of the Old Republic and Manhunt 2 but if you have a pc to play but have not yet purchased GTA IV then it's an absolute steal. Next cheapest is £10 at Play I think

Confused or too damn lazy to click on the "go to deal button" and look at the website?

Good find OP, i prefer steam myself but some cheap prices.

Can you play these games online? Do they come with a serial key?

Each game is different you need to click on the ones you are interested in and read the details...

Can you earn achievements through the GTA IV on your gamertag?

I know you can if you have the Games For Windows Retail version but as a non-PC gamer, I'm not sure how it works for downloadable PC games - can anyone confirm?

Works exactly the same, so yes to achievements

Hmmm - might plump for GTA on my PC then... Although I'm useless with a keyboard so might have to get a wired 360 controller. But at least I'd always have something to play when away from my 360. GTA especially gives you tons to do...
#15
Great find, GTA4 is well worth it and includes multiplayer H&R added!
#16
Even cheaper in most cases if you choose to pay in Euro's - top right corner to change it.

Arma Gold Collection £8.95 or €4.95
Men of War £1.95 or €1.95

Most are cheaper ... well worth looking at ...

Anyone know how well GTA 4 would run on a laptop? I'm not the biggest PC gamer and have only ever played FM2010 on this laptop...

I've got an ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card, 3GB RAM and a 2Ghz processor...

Any help would be appreciated.

Depends if its a Dual Core or not - If you are comfortable and proficient with overclocking - then i'd try overclocking to 2.5 Ghz for better performance. Not sure about the Gfx card though, I only use Nvidia

Not PC proficient in anything hardware related. I know the basics but beyond that - nothing.

It's a Core 2 Duo if that helps?

I've got Gears of War 1 on PC that I've never actually tried (waiting for a wired controller) but can test that to see if it runs half decent. If it does, I'll try GTA. For £3.95 I can live with it if it goes massively south...

Does anyone know if you can re-download on a separate computer at some point without having to rebuy (i.e. is the purchase tied to an account a la Steam)?

I'll be building a gaming PC hopefully after my uni exams, but am on a netbook at the moment and ultimately can't say no at this price...

"AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! -- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity" is an absolute STEAL for £1.50.

http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/aaaaa

Ever stood on top of a building in an FPS and decided to jump off it, just because you can, and felt a woozy vertigo rush as you plummet? This is that TIMES A MILLION.
#22
agree with you there its a great game a friend managed to bag it on steam when it was offer I gave it a whirl definantly a great game I think im gonna buy it from d2d at this price its a steal!

This brilliant website will let you see whether you have minimum or recommended requirements and also how far you surpass those requirements. Just follow the instructions and allow it to download the file when asked. I, and many others have used it safely many, many times.

Aaaaaaaaaa! is showing up at £3.50 for me, am I accessing the wrong section or something? bargain for GTA though.

And GTA will likely run very bad on a laptop, GTAIV is often a CPU bottlenecked game as it is basically a console port. I would be surprised if you had a playable framerate on low graphical settings tbh.

It looks like they have bumped the price up.

How :?

If I switch region to "EU" then I can't check out - it just says :

I had that at first - I then added it from the front page straight to basket and then checked out.

I've just ordered GTA IV - many thanks!

Unfortunately D2D is a bit cheeky in charging different prices for different regions despite the games often being identical so it's well worth looking at the US and EU versions of this sale to see if you can get the game cheaper:

http://www.direct2drive.eu/promos/spring-sale/
and
http://www.direct2drive.com/promos/spring-sale/

I bought DiRT 2 from last week's sale on the US site for $9.99 which is ~£7.60 after VAT instead of the £8.95 the uk sale was charging. It shows up on the UK site in my account and I was playing it last night so there don't seem to be any problems doing this.

Generally Digital Distribution sites like this offer identical games to the retail version with all their functionality with the main difference being that they use a different method of copy protection (you can't require the disk to be in the drive if there is no disk) which varies by game.

Direct2Drive doesn't use a client program like Steam, you just download the installer, install the game and play.

GfWL does work in DiRT 2 so I can't see why it wouldn't work in GTAIV.

Oh, and Men of War multiplayer games generally use the latest beta patch. This won't install to some digital distribution versions (notably Steam) but as D2D works like GamersGate whose men of war version will accept the beta patch (I run it myself) I'd imagine it will work for this excellent deal (which is worth it for the singleplayer).
#32
would have bought gta4 but my laptop has **** graphics lol
#33
GTA IV is more CPU heavy that GPU although you still need a fairly decent GPU
#34
just bought GTA and Aaaaaaaa! looking forward to Aa!, I have heard good things about it from a few people.
#35
Very tempted by GTA, though I just bought Episodes from Liberty City for my PC. The 14gb download sounds like a bandwidth nightmare!
Need to sell both my 360 versions now :)

Edit: Not sure why i'm fussing, it costs little more than the pizza i'm having for dinner. Might as well buy it just in case.
