DIRT Showdown - PC £17.50 delivered @ Coolshop

superspeedysuperspeedy

£17.50 delivered. Cheapest that it can be found at the moment, next cheapest was £19.85 at Shopto.

DiRT Showdown is a brand new dive in and drive adrenaline rush of speed, style and destruction from the creators of the multi-award winning DiRT series. Players jump into a new world of arcade racing with pick up and play controls, speeding, tricking and smashing their way to 'Showdown' finals to compete against rivals in front of thousands of fans in a vibrant festival atmosphere.

There are three broad categories to DiRT Showdown's stunning world of action-sport racing. Players will use nitrous to blast past rivals and negotiate courses filled with ramps, multiple routes and obstacles in racing events. Gaming's most advanced damage engine is pushed to its limits in demolition derby events, where players smash and crash their way to victory in jaw-dropping, bone-jarring style. Finally, in Hoonigan events gamers can demonstrate their freestyle driving skill in huge free-roaming stunt parks with new accessible controls.

DiRT Showdown is Codemasters' most connected game ever - split-screen multiplayer, eight player online racing, on and off-line quick-fire party games, and YouTube integration all come as standard. Players can also issue new 'Showdown Challenges' to compete with friends in on and off-line modes.

In the career mode, globe-trotting Showdown players will travel from Miami to San Francisco, London to Tokyo and other famous locations earning the adulation of the crowd at hyper-energised, frenzied, unsanctioned race events. Over 50 different events across four championships challenge gamers in a variety of conditions - sun, snow, and rain - through the day and under the floodlights at night.

With an exciting mix of licensed and bespoke cars and powered by the EGO Game Technology Platform for phenomenal graphical performance and stunning damage, DiRT Showdown will be the new standard for arcade driving delirium.

This game or Ken Block being in WRC, which is the more ridiculous?

I loved dirt 1 and 2. Dirt 3 is good but became a little annoying with the horse show thing in cars...
I don't think nitrous has a place in these games and I don't like the sound of this one, I think they need to go more dirt 2 style, the menus and whole ui was nicer and driving seemed more fun, but with less repetitive gameplay - more tracks and less plot and annoying unskippable voice over.

Man I really need to join a gaming forum!

    agree ^
1 and 2 were both excellent, 3 is great fun multiplayer on the 360, and this looks like sh** frankly

on the plus side, the whispers are that this is Codemaster starting to move the DiRT series away from proper rallying, with the idea being to resurrect CMR with a much more proper rally focused series again, and leaving all that Gymkana nonsense to the DiRT series

a new rally dedicated CMR would be epic, it's been too long ;)

the game is good if you traded after 1 day more fool you ..... the game in single player its easy but the game was designed for multiplayer online and that is much more fun . it is not a pure rally game etc,,, as stated i the game it self it is just a take off of all the games in dirt 2 - 3 that had the extra game play put in one place and for that it is worth getting. but i do wish there was more to it but i aint played it all yet so i reserve my comments for now

Would love to see that happen but I can't see it, proper rallying just doesn't seem to have the following to make it worthwhile and while Ken Block may be a laughably appalling rally driver he clearly has a lot of mainstream appeal from those who don't know better or don't care.

Dirt 1/2/3. Annoying, yet enjoyable. This looks like a nice budget title using the Ego engine.
Make it £9.99 and throw it to the Steam community immediately. Can't understand why it is being marketed as a full price game.

p.s. Any PC gamers that love driving games should be joining Project CARS. It is truly amazing!

Just to give everyone a heads up, they are starting to bundle this game with AMD cards. I'm expecting (as with Deus Ex and Dirt3) to see people and companies posting the download codes up on eBay soon quite cheaply. Also if you look internationally (as the codes are always region free) to get an even better deal.

Aye it's not worth more than £10 at all, it's just a lazy mod/dlc released as a full game

game is actually really amazing. Love the arenas and the gymkana is layed out in circuits timed from one end to the other vs an opponent. nothing more satisfying than smashing 3 cars with fatal hits and knocking all 3 off the platform to get about 12000 points in the final double points moments of a round. Worth £29.99 in it's own right and looks stunning on pc with 2560x1600 on a 7970 too.

Doesn't look stunning at all it looks worse than the last two Dirt games on ultra settings, gameplay wise it's all the trashy events that most people hated about Dirt2 and Dirt3 rehashed into a so-called "new" game. Flatout Ultimate Carnage is so much better than this... and that's years old now.

Backwards step by Codemasters as far as i'm concerned.... roll on GRID2 / DIRT4
