Compaq CQ5222 desktop only - discontinued model £259 less a whopping 30% because discontinued and also no cables or keyboard or mouse. £181.30 for Win7, AMDII x 2 215, 4 gb RAM, 320 HDD, outstanding deal in store Edinburgh but your local Tesco Extra might have similar just ready to be snapped up.

Great for me cos I just needed a replacement desktop.

What is this utter nonsense about seeing receipts? Do you not believe the OP? What possible reason do you think that would make them lie?

Cold for me, this deal is already at 168 Degrees despite being specific to one store, with no proof of purchase.

Why people vote hot for these things really does amaze me :x

Deary me,heres another one.
As AD 959 said whats the demand to see a receipt? I didnt know it was a forum rule to post evidence of a deal?
Do you think the OP has made the whole deal up.
No wonder people think twice on here about posting.

Great deal,well posted xodale

I think HUKD would be better without attitudes like your's. I'm clearly not alone either.

You profile suggests you haven't contributed anything of value to HUKD yourself.

You have your opinion, I'll have mine. Other posters post deals that are available in numbers, available online to all, or can be easily verified. And go and read my posts if you like, then you can see what I've contributed.

This is another one-off deal that the OP picked-up. A disc model missing bits from one store (but might, just might be similar deals elsewhere??) yet people just vote hot. Why? Can any of us go and buy it? No we can't. So the Op got a deal, but no one else can.

In case you didn't get it already...it's a ONE-OFF deal !

I was in Sainsburys tonight, they had reduced some sausages down as they were near the sell-by date, should I post on here so we can vote it hot, hot, hot ???

OOO touchy.
utter drivel by the way.
Like Besford states(by the way a guy with 2000+ posts, not a person who joined last month) HDUK would be better off without people with your attitude.

Touchy nahhhhh, just stating the facts, obviously it would be a shame to let them get in the way of blind optimism...enjoy those rose tinted specs while you can. How many posts have you made exactly ? :whistling:

50% off Beans too, interested ??? :whistling:

Being a newish member, I think that as the poster gets nothing (e.g money) for putting this on here, that he deserves a well done just for trying to help others out.

It's not as if all the "heat" does any harm, does it?

If you were somebody thinking of putting a post on here for a first time, if they read your negitive comments, would they be inclined to continue to try and help others save money?

Think you require the specs fella, the post count is next to my name. Should have gone to Specsavers.;-)

Are you going to post the link to the beans or just more worthless drivel?

Nope, just the fact that this can't be a deal if no one else can obtain it, if you feel that is drivel then you are very welcome to your opinion. See what I did there? Yep, you see we can all have differing opinions, it's a democracy after all. I make rational arguments, you....well the use of 'drivel' probably is reflective of the fact that reason is wasted upon you.

Oh dear you must have had a bad day.Did someone upset you earlier?
What a shame, you could have posted the link to your beans and your sausages from earlier.
O well fella,chin up

I think the question that is being argued about is should HDUK be restricted to deals that are only nationwide or local deals too. I see merit in posting local deals as it can benefit local HDUK members but I see Northerndaves argument. Surely if you cannot benefit from the deal there is no point in giving heat-unless heat is given by all the locals to the deal which is unlikely. Clear as mud!!:thumbsup:
#26
well its sounds like a one off to me. reductions of over 20% are unusual in tesco-25% is pretty much accepted as the max before the store sustains a loss on the item, so this must have taken into account the missing items.
i work at tesco btw =)
good luck to the op, but hardly a deal worth posting as, like i said, its a one off.the title is also misleading as it suggests thet there is more than one available.

Fully agree.
As said before by other posters a "thank you" for information can be given instead of a negative attitude.

Just added heat because it's a good deal and as yet no-one has disproved the possibility of getting this deal elsewhere . It's a great deal if you can get it and as someone else said there's no harm in a bit of heat being added . Just some moaning faced doubters who ask for receipts stating that it's a one off and yet have no proff of that as yet . xodale you'll have to try harder the next time you decide to hatch up an evil plan of deception to fool these poor people sitting at their computers , you know how gullable these people are ! Shame on you! Meanwhile those who have a bit of nouse could maybe even phone Tesco's and see if they have this deal near them to save a wasted journey . Just a thought :)

why dont you prove that you can get it cause you cant as there is no prove as of yet that it can be got at op price stated, on line it is showing £20 more then op has put in befor any money off so there is proof that it is more money then op says it was but no proof it is any cheaper, and after just getting back from tescos there is no deal for this or any other pc cheap so the op deal is a one off

Actually Northern Dave, I noticed yesterday that my local Tesco store had huge reductions on computer goods (including laptops) and I am in the South West of England. Such as wireless printers at 30% off.

Now, maybe you could actually go down to your local store and check it out for yourself before accusing people of making things up. Oh, and while your there, why not buy a mirror so you can get that egg off your face?

No, but I can spot when a deal is not a deal and how long I've been a member has f*ck all to do with it.
BTW, Nice attitude, when did you graduate from charm school with such an expansive vocabulary, or av u always been fick wid da language innit?

Dave, Dave, Dave; you are not making any friends in here. Throwing all your toys out of your pram a couple of weeks after you have showed up on this forum is really bad news for you. Take a deep breath, count to ten, and just let it go man.

Ok, it is cheap, but you also get an outdated CPU, probably on an outdated motherboard with old DDR2 memory. The Windows 7 license is nice - but only really useful if it is the 64bit version.

Just to add to the rather heated thread (and heated in more ways than one...) Ok, OP's deal sounds like an ex-display model or a return maybe? Either way it's a local deal, and for those of you looking online...you're not gonna find it. HOWEVER, and this is a big however (as you can see, it's bigger than the rest of the writing lol) Tesco do have up to 40% off their normal selling price for ex-display electricals. I'm in the Midlands and both of our Tesco superstores have a cabinet of ex-display cameras, laptops etc reduced by a fair amount. And for those of you needing proof of this, I'll go in just for your benefit and take a picture. Its almost like you could have gone in yourselves. But it's ok. I'll go in for you.
Next week I'll also bring you proof of the existance of God and the answer to life.
My new HUKD signature:

Totally agree or as I said they could phone them . Shouting down the OP for trying to help people out is ridiculous . xodale never categorically stated that it was available everywhere , just that it might be available elsewhere . eejits

it might be outdated.....but it's a damn sight newer than my current PC.....might take a trip to Westwood Cross this evening.....as that's my nearest Extra store, and it's about 30 miles away :(
