Looking to go to Chester Zoo? Visit Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet - Tourist Information Centre (SatNav post code CH65 9JJ) and buy your tickets there.
It's only a 5-10 minute journey by car to the zoo, so not much of a detour.
Prices are:
Adult £14.50
Child £10.50
Concession £11.50
Cheapest price from the zoo website (after removing the voluntary donation) = Adult £16.30, Child £12.60, Concession £15.00, Family Ticket £53

Approx 11% discount

I know this has been posted a while ago, but these are up to date prices (phoned the Tourist Office today to check).
IMPORTANT! Cash only for tickets - plenty of ATMs though

I take the kids for the last 2 hours, it's half price.
Nice and quiet and my lot are usually bored after 90 minutes.
Win win!

bet your one of these that tells kids when ice cream man plays his music means he's out of ice cream ha ha :p

Haven't voted, but not sure on discounts for Zoo tickets, Chester is a great zoo that does some amazing work across the globe to support endangered species, they get very little if any goverment funding or support and need every penny to provide good standards of care for their animals.

Surely its better for the zoo to have people there paying the reduced price than staying away because it's too expensive. The zoo are offering the discount, they must want people to take them up on it. As the op indicates, you can always add an extra donation if you don't think they're charging enough.

Good deal, as an alternative, if you can arrange for a few families to go together then you can get a group discount for 15+ people which works out at £12.60 for adults and £9.80 for kids/concessions. Obviously you'd all have to go in together, but might be of use to some people out there.

We might be going at some point, so will probably make use of the Cheshire Oaks offer, although I suspect that Mrs Mike73 will more than make up the money saved whilst at Cheshire Oaks - even if we're there for only 5 minutes!

Just been to Chester zoo today and called at Cheshire oaks for the tickets, they do still sell them cheaper for adults and kids, but do not sell family tickets so it works out at £60 for 2 adults and 2 kids, but it's only £59 for a family ticket at Chester zoo direct. It's worth if your not a family.

How much were they from Cheshire Oaks for the individual tickets? :)
