The 14 day tickets are good value to maximise use over a two week holiday but we bought non-expiry tickets last time round. 10 days at parks plus 10 days at watermarks, should last us our next 3 visits. Just a thought as an option for those planning to go back :-)

Sorry voting neutral - this is the standard Disney deal at the moment and available directly from them.

These offers are available just about everywhere at the moment. I got quotes earlier today from Complete Orlando, Disney and Virgin Holidays and Virgin came out at over £800 more expensive than booking directly with Disney for the same holiday (but flying with BA) and £600 more than complete orlando flying with Virgin.
Marnstars - I understand what you mean about non-expiry tickets but if you are going to stay at a moderate hotel then you need to buy unlimited passes to get the free dining plan - this saved us at least 2 grand on food last year!

VH are a Joke if you have to travel in the school hols(as we do)
Our next trip is 24 nights in July/Aug, 3 x Premium Economy flights, 3 nights offsite, 21 nights OKW, 3 x 21 day Disney tix, 21 days of Disney Dining plan, car rental, cost £4,500
VH quote for only 21 days in economy seats £10,445
Ok we are using some airmiles to get the price down but you have to laugh at VH pricing.
Travel offpeak and they are OK but school hols :(

People do pay for virgin holidays though and I think its help people who pay a deposit and then pay abit of here and there rather than paying straight up

That depends on what holiday you take. I posted the three different offers eg free dining, 14 Day Ticket for price of 7, $150 Disney Spending Money per booking that they have if you book a holiday. No need to be so rude

What lowrieh1 is saying is there is no specific deal with final bargain price, anyone can say they are giving $150 gift card then add £500 on the holiday. Free dining is not always what it seems, you pay rack rate for the hotel with no discount. Book with a US agent and get a room discount then buy food, sometimes better value.
You will be very lucky to find a good deal on VH worth posting, the headline looks good but final price is often too high.
Anyone want help planning trips to Florida I will help as much as I can on DISboards.com (UK trip planning) I am on there every day.

Used Charter Travel - guaranteed 6% cheaper than booking with Disney direct and includes the free dining and $150 spending money.

Hi - I would love some help with a trip to Florida - like you we have to travel in the school holidays, and as there are two of us with three children, it's very costly. Any tips/idea's - average I'm being quoted for travel in Aug '12 or Dec'12 is around £5k plus, and thats without Disney tickets.

Asters - how do I contact you for advice on a trip to Florida? Like you, we have to travel in school holidays too, and it's working out very costly - rough idea for two adults n three kids, in a Condo, inc. car hire n flights is around £5000 for Aug '12 or Xmas '12. Any tips or idea's much appreciated - this doesn't even inc. tickets!

Apologies for the same post twice ;(

Its all about booking at the right time and being flexible.
Sometimes flying at beginning of week can save £100's compared to flying at the end of the week. Fly from London instead of regional, fly indirect, book everything seperate rather than a package.
A few weeks ago August flights were about £400 each, same now are £700-800 each. No-one knows if they will drop again or stay high.
I am a Moderator(wayneg) on this forum below, myself and others will help as much as we can over there but you have left it a little late for this August. Xmas is great out there, I have spent 5 in Florida but its also the busiest time of year, parks often close for overcrowding and can be as cold as here, I would only advise someone with a few trips under their belt to visit at Xmas.

Thanks for all of that - will bear all your points in mind. Have been once before at Xmas, but it was before we had kids so our holiday requirements were somewhat different to what they are now! Will keep an eye out on the flight prices too - do I need to register or anything on the DIS boards site?

You will be able to read without registering but if you want to post and ask questions then yes, same as other forums. I registered back in 2003 so not sure exact info you will need, probably just an email and password.
