There's always this Swap Top Kitchen for £10 more:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Worlds-Apart-Swap-Top-Kitchen/dp/B0019DRMP8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1227025899&sr=8-1

Turns into a desk & chair so it should have some use after they've finished playing big cook little cook.

"Looks a bit boring compared to this tho..........."

Well, it depends on a number of things:

1. Using the right picture - the Swap Top one opens out into quite a nice little kitchen.
2. Taste - the Disney one is hardly what I would call tasteful. With those looks it could be called the pink nightmare kitchen. ;)
3. Space - does your kid have a big enough room for the Disney monstrosity?
4. Build quality - One is made of MDF (not great) and one is made of moulded plastic that (by many reports) snaps off rather easily. Can you guess which is which?
5. Length of service - One is a hideous plastic kitchen that will be played with for a couple of days and then sit in the room like a constant reminder of wasted money, the other is a kids kitchen that will be played with for a couple of days then turn into a desk where they can do drawing/painting/etc rather than on your expensive dining room table.
6. Imagination - one requires your child's imagination and the other requires Disney's imagination.

After much deliberation I chose the Swap Top for my little girl. I'll also buy a pack of Disney Princess stickers so she can decorate it herself (she is obsessed with DP).

*grins* Why, oh why did I waste time on this post?

I have both the princess kitchen and the swap top desk, I didn't see it as one or the other as they are totally different, my girls are 5 and 18 months and I would say the princess kitchen is aimed at younger children where the swap top desk appeals more as they get older, my youngest doesn't even look at the swap top kitchen, my eldest mainly uses it as a desk.

For the price, I think the princess kitchen is great, the added colours and accessories and sounds really makes it a nice addition to any little girls room.
