Does it still work that any unused days last forever?

Just thought that if and when I take the kids, I may have to buy tickets well in advance and put them by until I have saved up for the flights and accommodation etc.

Don't suppose any of you peeps know :)

On Ultimate tickets (like these) they run for 14/21 days from the day you first use them. After the 14/21 day period is up then tickets are basically useless.

WDW do this to try and make sure you enter their parks as soon as you arrive in Orlando so you get the most out of the ticket. After all, you woudn't want to think you had paid for days and NOT used them would you?

And of course, once they have you inside their parks then you're at the mercy of their marketing departments / shops / restaurants to twist your arm into buying more stuff! Cynical? Moi? I've been there 4 times in the past 9 years :)

i think it stands for diney information board . its the best disney site on the net. it covers everything you could possibly want to know , even down to what a current menu is for a particular restaurant. the forums are sooooo informative . so if any of you are off to the best place in the world - you must read through the DIBB;-)

I must sound very naive, but I take it that flights are on top of this...?

Yep. A holiday to Florida is very expensive. I bought 2 of each of these tickets today and my girlfriend laughed that the price I paid was more than our holiday to Rome last year:whistling:

It's ... http://www.thedibb.co.uk/ .... the best source of online information regarding Florida and Orlando. If anyone is planning a trip to Florida, this is a great place to ask for information.

I've been 4 times too - snap -- but last time I went was before I had kids - about 10 years ago - couldn't remember about the ultimate tickets.

Is there ever an expiry date on them (not including when you first enter the park) - or do I remember right that they last forever?

If I remember correctly, the 21 Day Ultimate Tickets were the 2008 version and I'm pretty sure had an expiry date, i.e. we had to use them before Feb 2009.

When you use the ticket for the first time it's activated .... you can then use it as much as you want in the next 14/21 days but once this time is up the ticket becomes invalid. They (and Universal / Sea World) have introduced an awful finger printing system. When you use the ticket on Day 1 you also have to scan your index finger which should "tie" the ticket to your finger print.

When you use the ticket on subsequent days, you have to use the ticket and your fingerprint to gain entry. Imagine all the fun you and everyone else has with hot, wet, sticky fingers and Mum having Grannies ticket, Dad having his daughters ticket etc etc. No one gets in as the tickets and fingerprints don't match. Even when you DO have the right ticket for the person you still get problems. Oh what a jolly jape that is. :x

They've done it to try and stop people selling on unused or partially used tickets.

Not so lucky, they were for last year's trip  We bought our flights last year for this year's holiday when they were cheap and are off next month. With the dollar rate so bad we now can't afford Disney tickets after paying so much extra for everything else! I'm sure we will still have a great time though ;-)

The secret is in the planning. You don't need to spend this much on buying WDW tickets. After all, why buy 21 day tickets if you aren't going to be in WDW parks for 21 days? Anyone that actually wants to be in WDW them parks for 21 days in a row is a glutton for punishment - there is FAR more to Orlando and Florida than incarceration inside WDW

You need to plan what youwant to see and do and then work out your ticketing arrangements. Sea World do some good offers where you get 2 days entry for the price of one etc. IMO, the Universal / Sea World Flex tickets offer much better value than the WDW ones.

Plan your vist, look for the best deals online and make use of sites like The Dibb (see above) for advise.

But whatever you do, avoid Epcot .... it's BORING!!!!
#16
Epcot.....Boring ???? I dont think so,I love it there, each to their own !!! Going in August for the 6th time, cant wait great price for WDW tickets been watching prices for a while, dont know if I should leave it a bit longer though might drop a bit more ??? What do you think ??
#17
Dunno if they'll drop in price, I wish I did as I'd be rich!

As for Epcot, I absoultely despise the place. Went to Orlando for 3 weeks last year and thankfully managed to avoid Epcot the whole time. It's just a glorified shopping mall!
#18
I love Epcot - I suppose each to their own - but I couldnt see my little girls liking it much - but that would be tough :)

I've found that OK - 21 days in a row might be a lot - but if it is too hot - you can come out of WDW go the malls or somewhere else - go back again for the fireworks etc.

This has expired now :(
