£1.69 in sainsbury.
£1.49 in tesco.

This is a great deal but i wonder if they are any good, ive had some bad cheap disposable BBQ's in the past!

if these are the same as the ones i got from there last year, then they are really poor quality. they are just under two inches deep, and last nowhere near as long as other bbq's i've bought in the past.

save your money and get something a bit better quality.

(if they are different, then i take it all back, just be wary)

Used one from sainsburys at the weekend. It was really good, lots of decent charcoal (not with wood still showing like some of the cheap ones), great burn time and a sturdy stand!

£1 disp bbq is always available somewhere. I'd advise anyone using this to always have a spare in case one burns out before you finish cooking all your food.
#5
seen something similar in Poundland.... for a pound :)

Bit hit and miss these cheapo disposables. Got a 2 pack from Aldi last week for £2.50, and while the first one we used was great, the second burned itself out in no time. Main problem I've found is there's just not enough charcoal in them - you'll get a hot spot in the middle, so you're fine if you want to cook 3 or 4 burgers, but you can't fill the grill right to the edges as there just isn't enough coal to go round.

Went to the beach with a disposable bbq last year. Good points are that theyre cheap and easy to light. Bad point, they are no good to put on the sand. That is unless you like a bit of bite to your bbq chicken

I can confirm that these actual one's are superb.

Bought 5 last week and have used two of them already, light quickly and last a long time too, very impressed.

Seen these in my local poundland too. Duno how decent they are though, haven't tried them. The last ones were used were from Morrisons and I think they were OK.. over a quid though.
#10
great for cooking seperate veggie food on if you use your main bbq for meat
#11
I find these don't last very long but are still handy to have few in the shed....We use them to start our coals off on our 'big' BBQ ,they're quite good for that!!
#12
please if you are going to use these - make a plan to dispose of them.
so many of them are just left in forests / beaches by people and are so bad for the environment.

Question.

Are ALL BBQ items going to be made HOT??

Doesn't seem like a HOT deal to me since they are nearly always available at this price, somewhere.

hi

all though these are very cheap, avoid them! they are absolutely rubbish. bought 2 at the weekend and the heat that they generated wos absolutely ridiculous! i tried for 2 hours to cook some burgers without much success. Tried a disposable from tesco for £2.60 yesterday and they were 10 times better. Within an hour I lit the bbq let it warm up and cooked 10 burgers and 8 kebabs to perfection and it was still going strong!

DO NOT BUY FROM LIDL!

I brought one for a bbq yesterday. Yes they are cheap but not worth buying. It took forever to cook my food and it was not that hot. In the end i gave up and went and brought a Chinese.

Thats what i thought.......been paying a quid for these for the last 3-4 years, not really a hot deal imo.

I saw a load of people going mad for these at the weekend but i dnt think its worth risking it for £1 and it dont cook your food properly. Better to be safe than sorry and get a decent brand or do a proper BBQ
#18
I bought couple of them last week. They are ok, but stand less than Tesco one. Says would be enough for a max 4 person BBQ. Hot !!!
#19
Took 4 of these camping on the weekend, 2 were great and lasted hours and 2 were pants and went cold after about 20 mins. Really hit and miss with these.

You'd be better off spending a little bit more and getting a deeper one with more charcoal in

If the cartons are inconsistent in the quantity of charcoal, the simple way around it is to just buy the heavier cartons, or shake it first and buy the ones with the least movement :p

They all had the same amount in them, just some burned away quicker than others

i dont see the point in buying these a decent proper BBQ only costs £8 in Wilkinsons.

http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/8319140

and the charcoal brickettes are only £1.99 for a 3kg bag.

http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/8325040

with the 3kg bag you will get 2 Burns out if it after the initial layout for the BBQ it only costs £1.00 to light the thing and cook and the results will be better.

If it was me doing the BBQ.... it would be VERY VERY COLD... and we would all be having a take away, I cant even get the dam things going never mind cook on them......... but it wont be me so voted hot :D

ZOMG1!1!! BEST BARGAIN EVER.

I usually pay 1p more in Poundland though.
banned#25
i diont think i would trust a £1 bbq, just too many bad experiences............
#26
bought some of these at the weekend....the first one i used only managed 6 sausages before it went cold.....the second one i used was better...it cooked four burgers and some toast...
ha
moral of the story is........you get what you pay for....
there £1.69 in sainsburys and they last longer...
this offer is as cold as the BBQ
