Dammit - bought the standard version for £2.99 last week and it still aint arrived - although dispatched - wish I'd waited (crystal balls would be nice) as I would have bought this.

Superb find

This is an awesome deal. I have not seen the film yet. I think I might order just for the steelbook. Dont buy DVD's but I think this time around I should.

For me this was the film of the decade, so this is hot at any price!
But since this is Hot UK Deals, this is a good price for a truly awesome film

While there is a degree of truth in this, I have often found that the steelbooks contain other stuff as well, which makes them a little more desirable to collectors. For example, the 300 steelbook I got contained an official artwork booklet. Some people just like all of the extras.:)

I dunno, I'd pay an extra quid for a steelbook case. Voted hot.

Really? You can get the HMV exclusive steelbook for £2.99 at amazon?
#12
So lets get this right, this is 4 quid for an old DVD (+some extra BS)?.

I've seen this film, and it was okay (some people go on as though it is the greatest film of all time-I don't get that).

An old (more than 6 months) film is worth about £2.99 on DVD OR £6.99 on BR...me and a lot of others have hard drives and end up sticking these in a cupboard. More extras=more cupboard needed space.

If this is a deal then so is every piece of 'limited edition' tat in the Collectables shop, and we might as well give up on this site now, as it would take forever to trawl through (unless you were a sadist that enjoyed hitting the blue button).

**** PRAWNS!!!
#14
there is no doubt that this is a great film
#15
Tempted but it's one of very few films I would pay the extra for BluRay as the cinematography was excellent.
#16

Ordered & muchly appreciated.

I have this and I gotta say the case is mint plus I was watching this on the xbox360 connected up to a hd tv and the picture was just amazing and that was the dvd! Well worth a buy imho and its only four quid, plus the other cover sucks which is a shame considering this is one imaginative film
#23
Hmm. It depends if you go to the cinema. If not then you have to wait for the dvd/bluray.

What do you mean by hard drive?. If you download them thats illegal X) not unless you buy it from itunes or something, and im sure thats more then £3.99. I like dvd/blu rays. all this digital thing means basically you own nothing

to people who dont get the fuss about steelbooks or steel cases - then you just dont get it.
they are highly collectable and look really good. this is a super deal, i paid a lot more when it came out, and i got the bluray steelbook too. and when a film is this good its ok to double dip in my opinion.

to those who want a plastic case version then fine - but in years to come when your dvds are worthless, the steelbooks wont be. i can guarantee that.

It's really good, just like any other modern film on Blu Ray. Couldn't fault it at all myself :)

Oh please, steelbooks are 'limited'....'limited' to about several hundred thousand copies. It WILL NOT be worth anything. Maybe a pound or two more than the standard edition.

Of course there are a few select titles that have really rare editions (Battle Royale Blu Ray comes to mind) which will likely be fairly good collector's items as there are so few of them. Sorry to disappoint you, but this wont.

But this does look way nicer than the plastic case version, so I'd buy it (if I didn't have the BR). Seriously, why not buy it cos it looks cooler, and not that you think it'll be the ark of the covenant in years to come.

I really don't see how this could be voted cold. People can say the movie wasn't to there taste, which is fair enough, but we all know that this site isn't necessarily about that. This site is about finding good deals, and this happens to be a good deal. Sure the steelbook isn't highly limited, but it is a very nice piece of packaging that adds that extra bit of character to your collection. I bought this specific version upon release for £9.99 I believe which was a cracking price at the time considering. £2.99 for the standard version is a good enough deal, but to pay the extra quid and receive the movie in a lovely steelbook is more than worth it. What else will you do with the extra pound? Hell, that wouldn't even buy you a normal sized bottle of Coca-Cola in most places thesedays, and that's consumed within minutes usually. This steelbook will sit nicely on your shelf for as long as you want it to, and if you ever decide to sell it, you could probably recooperate that extra pound you spent so it's nothing to complain about.

These are just the thoughts from someone who really likes when DVDs/Blu-Rays are released in unique and nice packaging though. Every bit of extra effort towards the overall package is something I appreciate, from bonus features, to booklets, art cards, and packaging whether steelbook, digipak, slipcase etc. It's just nice when an effort is made for the consumer and collector as opposed to the basic plastic box.

Heat added.
