I've just had this from my LoveFilm subscription, and thought it was a great film - like an idiot though, I had the screen aspect set wrong, and missed the first couple of minutes of Alien speech screen subtitles.

Being a typical bloke I couldn't be bothered to watch it from the start again, relying on intuition to fill the gaps. Sadly I overestimated my powers of intuition - and have been left wondering why the spaceship came to earth to start with, and why the pod fell to Earth?.

I've tried reading the Wikipedia entry / Amazon synopsis / review's etc - but am none the wiser. Can anyone explain?.

(Hot Deal BTW!)

From what I remember it came to earth by chance because there ship broke. They needed to drop the pod in order to recharge the substance needed to fuel up the ship again

Thats from what I could remember. Aint seen it in a while though. somebody might be more insightful on it

Great price for a very good film, I purchased the steelbook off the HMV site on release for about £9 or so. If you're a bit fussy like me, maybe worth stumping up the extra few quid for the nice steelbook version.

Heat!

Its a film! Generally speaking works of fiction tend to be fake.

The first movie was great, but by the time they'd got to no.8 I didn't think there was any story left to tell. But no.9 is the best yet- bought it at ASDA Benton Saturday great price.

Lol at the noobs who can't even watch a DVD. I can't imagine how much less coherent this film would be without the aliens subtitled.

I agree cheaper, but for 5p I'd rather have it now that in a 'few' days time.

Each to their own I suppose! :whistling:

I love the way the highlight of this film is the swearing in a South African accent... all films should have swearing in a South African accent.
